D@mn! That was quick. I tried to go register this afternoon but the site was blocked from work (though it wasn't the other day).

Re: The Beer Run -- Ottawa -- October 20, 2013
Fun idea. Isn't Big Rig way out by Ikea? That's a long way to go after already hitting 4 breweries! I just mapped it out on Google maps as they don't list the distance, but do show the route, it looks about 13.2k all in, the question is how do I now get home? :) I mapped it out and it's just under ...

I saw somewhere on the site that the run was about 10k.

I'm not running it this year but I'd try to drop by for a beer if there's a meetup.

Congrats! That took a ton of mental and physical toughness to keep going and finish when you were already suffering at 30k.
Great race report too

+1. My dream setup is the same.
IMO, you can do a lot more with dumbells/barbell, than a pulley station or bowflex.

The Run Commuter is a good site for backpack and other run commuting information: http://theruncommuter.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Most weeks between the spring and fall I run commute one-way, once per week. It's 21km so it's a perfect base long run. I usually bring a change...

Very cool! Thanks Strider. You did a great job shooting behind your head while still running.
I don't know what I was doing on that last one but it looked like I was trying to throw an elbow as you were going by for the passing shot. I swear I wasn't.

Re: Crappy weather = no Sunday thread?
I had a great time on the trails this morning with Strider, ngcaper and MikeM. Strider wasn't kidding when he said there were lots and lots of rocks on that route, LOL. I think we covered about 13K and wouldn't you know it, but I didn't even break any bones or spill any blood that didn't end up in ...

Re: Trail Running Clinic for Road Runners / Triathletes
It ended up being well worth the $20. Started at 6:30 and went all the way until 9:00 with drills and running interspersed with frequent instruction. They started out with talking a bit about trail shoes, followed by a warm-up and then basic form drills, starting with A, B, and Cs, then moving into ...

Cool, I didn't even think of that. Maybe I'll get DD to make homemade medals like IB and IG did for Jog the Bog a few years ago.

NICE...another spot a bit closer than Gatineau. So who wants to volunteer to show me around? Strider/Mike/someone else? Both? All of you? :) Give me a couple more weeks recovery and I'll drag you around there. Trail head/entrance is about a 4km from my place, we can run from our front door and with...

Were are said trails on 2nd Line...I thought 2nd Line ended at Cabin Road outside of Osgoode, and I drive by there frequently and see no trails anywhere. I'm guessing there's another 2nd line in the city I don't know of. This city confuses me some days...I guess it's the amalgamation of many areas ...

MikeM, there are always the trails off 2nd line too you can run on. I have gotten in a couple of 2.5-3 hrs snowshoe runs there this winter. Finally tried those this morning. Only ran about 5k/30min on an inner loop for today but I'll be back for many more runs throughout the summer and fall. So nic...
