Re: Army Run
Last year, I ordered the men's shirt in a size smaller than I would have ordered in women's and the length and fit were perfect. FWIW.

Wow. I kind of forgot about this thread! I think this is my most successful thread ever! :D I got chased by a bull when I was a kid. But it was in the country - it was also in my backyard - but that was in the country. What can you do? Fastest time I have ever run = being chased by a bull from the ...

Re: Dog Attack
How often have you taken your dogs to an off leash park where there are runners running through the area? I've seen (not just C-Moss...and to be honest when she's done it...and I've called her back...she's come back...because she is good on recall)dogs go into prey mode. Definitely you shouldn't fe...

I've never thought twice about running in an off-leash area. Are you saying that people shouldn't run in an off-leash area? :-? Yes...I am saying that. Just like I'm saying that people shouldn't have their dogs off leash in areas that are specifically designated as on leash. And if you want to cont...

Re: How to increase appetite
Thanks everyone for your concern - here's an update. The problem was she wasn't even able to get enough down in the form of liquids (i.e., the enhanced nutitional supplements like ensure, etc.). There are no medical (GI) reasons for lack of appetite but it did seem to be partially related to all th...

Re: A Little Whine About Women's Shoes
I'm in Ottawa also, and have walked into both Bush and MEC and bought women's Montrails easily off the shelf. Maybe it is just a matter of stock at that time. Have you ever thought of asking a sales person when their next order of Montrails are coming in?

Re: Baby strollers in races
What I don't get is how people don't think running with a stroller in these tight, crowded races actually endangers your child. Looking at the video (and I think someone already mentioned this) you can see how easy it would have been for that girl to fall backwards, landing on the child, if the stro...

Re: Sweaty bands
The jury is still out for me. It doesn't sit flat on my head - the front sits flat but the back sticks up a bit, if that makes any sense. It feels like it could slip when I am wearing it, and that's just sitting around - I haven't tried it on a run yet. Another issue is that there were so many colo...

Re: How to increase appetite
Ideally, she should be assessed for the cause of decreased appetite. Depression, decreased motility of the GI tract, medication side effects, changes in mental/cognitive status, infection, chronic pain, etc, etc, etc can decrease appetite. There are pharmaceutical aids (domperidone, metoclopramide, ...

May I ask to have elite disabled athletes included also (eg Rick Ball)? Some of us with disabilities find someone who excels despite a disability really, really encouraging when things get tough.
