I got all my stretch marks during the last 2 weeks of pregnancy. Coincidence that Zack was 2 weeks overdue?
They're slowly fading...but whatever. I could really care less. For the 2 times a year I wear a bikini, people can deal with it.

Re: Hot running (newish) Momma's thread...
I remember feeling so guilty about leaving my kids so I could run or exercise. Don't feel guilty for taking time for yourself. :) I only feel guilty when Zack says "no Momma, no go running. Stay and play". Breaks my heart every time. And yet, I still go. It's good for him to learn that it...

Re: 2013 Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend
so, some of my clinic members are telling me that their start time and corral is listed on line. Am I on crack? I don't see that. I also can't find my registration e-mail - but, I can find my number online, so, I know I'm okay..... I couldn't find it, either. My registration e-mail is at home (must...

Re: Ottawa this weekend?
The Running Rooms have group runs on Sunday mornings. There's one downtown, two in central-ish mixed residential/commercial areas and then the rest in the suburbs. Most other groups require you to be a member. Not a big racing weekend here because of Ottawa Race Weekend next week. Somersault has th...

Re: Sporting Life 10 KM
Pedestrians, well those jerks are everywhere, anyone ever have someone run in front of them to take a picture of their wife/husband in the NCR? I have almost every race. Pedestrians can be a pain, but let's not forget...this race blocked off a main street for over 2 hours on a Sunday morning. At so...

Re: Sporting Life 10 KM
From someone who was in the chute working...there weren't enough volunteers there to keep people moving. You NEED experienced, LOUD volunteers to properly manage people. You need people who understand what's going on to keep traffic moving. At NCM, if you even pause after finishing, you're told righ...

Re: What next?
thats a good approach...I feel that 16k is comfortable for me then I can start increasing in July/August for the 30k If you're doing 30k in August (midsummer is Aug 17 this year), you'll want to start increasing before Aug for sure. Build in 2 weeks of taper, get in one run of 30k (or close to it),...

Re: Run the Frugal Goofy!
I think I will do mine the week after Labour Day (Thurs, Sep 5 and Friday, Sep 6). That's one week before my final long run prior to my taper for the Toad. I think I start classes that week, so depending on what days they are, I'll either do it then as well, or the week before, although it'll still...

Re: Run the Frugal Goofy!
I'm mapping out a route that will give me 21K to work (I only live 5K from work, so I have to add on quite a bit of distance). Since I don't like tacking on extra at the end of a run, I'll likely add it onto the beginning (i.e., running in the opposite direction for 8K, turning around, then running...

where's Marg?! She's our MnG organizer! ;) It's at the Fox and the Feather, usually, I believe. I'd definitely like to come - with my sidekick Delilah. It sounds like there is also a cheering MnG started. Maybe we need a new thread. :P Maybe someone who says they're going should actually organize i...

I'm a strong maybe. I'm going back to school in Sept, so won't have as much free time (my run would be about 19k each way). We'll see how the summer goes.

Re: Trail Barhavven to Manotick
I read a post one day about someone here running a lsd, something like 30k on a trail from Barhavven to Manotick. I can't seem to find the post, nor remember who wrote it, but wanted to ask where this trail is? Manotick would a very close access for me, and would be great on the drive home from the...

Re: Garmin vs Polar vs Timex
210 just does average pace and doesn't include all of the lap feature you want (as far as I know). I don't think it does calories. The hook up to charge it is really, really finicky. That's my main criticism of it. Other than that, it gives me what need (time, distance, avg pace). Yes, the 210 does...

Re: Long time lurker....
Thank you all very much. Purdy65 it would be nice to meet but based on your times, you'll have to wait around for me for about 20 mins.. ha Actually my goal is to run really hard for 20K and then dog it for the last KM and come in just before the marathon winner and bask in the reflected glory... k...
