I've never had a problem but I make sure to rinse well before I put my goggles on. I suspect that fogging probably wouldn't be an issue at the pool I swim at now or on open water swims. My local parks & recs pools keep their water temperature "relatively" warm and I suspect that's the reason why...

I use anti-fog spray, the kind designed for hockey visors. Works every time.

4 of the ladies in my swim heat in my race last weekend are going to be competing in the age group race. One of them is my last year's cycling coach.

It's a lovely morning here with lots of sun. Master's swim for me at 10:00 am. Should probably be able to get in around 3000m or so. I twisted my ankle yesterday on my trail run and it was a bit twingy by the end. It's still a little sore this morning. It's not serious but it's probably just as well...

The coach of the cycling clinic I did last year told us that one of her coaches wouldn't let them use their big ring until they'd done x amount of mileage in the small ring (I can't remember exactly how much). I'm not a strong cyclist and I'm still not comfortable switching between the two rings. Mo...

The rain seems to have stopped here for now and with any luck it will hold off until after my run. Just having some breakfast and then I will head out. The plan is to do a really easy paced 15k.

Have a great day,

Hmmm maybe I will do it (if I can get a wetsuit rental). It's the day before my b-day. Maybe that will get me off the hook for it being on father's day.

Binbrook?

Anyone done this race? Any thoughts on the course? I'm thinking about doing the sprint distance in order to get some open water swimming practice.

Have you thought about bungie laces for your running shoes?

Well, update - haven't run a step since May 10, and I've been trying my hardest to wear sensible shoes, and even wore my birkies to work on Friday! I just had a quick appt with my GP who sent me for x-rays. I had 4 of them done and depending on the results, I may end up going for a bone scan. She w...

I tried it too. Facing forward I traveled forward and to the left. With my head turned left or right and I traveled straight forward. Interesting, but not too surprising to me. I'm very right dominant and most of my injuries manifest on the left side.

Another one with a bad sleep last night. The bedroom was just too warm, and then for some reason I woke up at around 5:45 and couldn't get back to sleep. Busy day for me today. 12.3k run done on the treadmill at the gym this morning, then ds#1 has soccer this evening and I have Masters swimming afte...

Ok, I know I need to pull myself up by my boostraps. I'm severly lacking in motivation which is part of the reason why I haven't been biking. The other reason was that with so much time off my bike I was feeling really intimidated to get back on. Run training through the winter took it's toll too an...

Thinking of throwing in the towel

Yesterday I did a short local tri - 400m pool swim + 15k bike + 5k run. I did this one last year as my very first tri. It's mostly a KOS race with just a small adult tri at the end. I was hoping to improve my time over last year but I was actually a few seconds slower. It found it really tough, espe...

Be sure to note where the bike and run exits are. It's easy to get disoriented in transition when you are trying to go fast.

Don't forget the climb up Brittania from Queen Street to Creditview. Somehow for me most of this race feels like it's uphill even though as an out and back it's obviously not. This year is an anniversary year so they will be handing out finisher's medals. I'm trying to get up the motivation to regis...

Good-luck racers! It's technically not Sunday here yet but when I wake up it's my first tri for 2008. Me too. It's just a short one - 400m pool swim + 15k bike + 5k run. I did this race as my first ever tri last year so it will be interesting to see if I can beat my time. I got my bike back from the...

I didn't check the link, but if it gives you a route map you could then map it on gmap-pedometer and it will give you elevation.
