Welcome jfrunner!!

Hi everyone! I'm so proud that I have convinced at least one person to join the Forum!!! OK, it was an easy one... my boyfriend... he sees all the time I spend on the Forum and told me he might as well sign up and see what's so interesting about this forum! I also told my running partner, but ...

Bon match!

One thought: I'm not sure that it is possible for you to do that, but could you run home after work instead of driving home? Maybe it's too far, but I thought I'd still write the suggestion. I found that it was easier for me to run when I left work in my running clothes and ready for my training ses...

I found for me that it was a very complicated physical/emotional connection that caused me to gain weight in the first place, so it was also going to be a complicated physical/emotional connection that would help me lose it. As I lost weight, I learned more and more about myself and what caused me ...

Natalie, I admire your courage!

I wish you good luck with your boot camp - maybe you can inspire me to be myself a little more cautious with what I eat. I'll try and follow you!

Keep us posted!

When I started running a year ago, I was close to 180lbs. One month later, I went on a trip to Cuba and caught "something" (as they never found what that was). For 4 months, I was sick all the time and almost couldn't eat anything, so I lost 20 lbs. In March, I started to eat again, but much less be...

Si tu as déjà un B ...

I'm back! I didn't need the help of my imaginary coach (I called him Pete) as there were plenty of animals and walkers to cheer me during my run. I found out there were 5 main shades of green for cars and 3 shades of red. I also counted my left foot steps and then my right foot steps. ...

Thanks everyone for your great ideas! When I go for my run later this morning, I will bring my MP3 player (as I always do), my imaginary coach on my left shoulder, my list of topics to think about, I will run 11:1s instead of 10:1s, I will try a different route and when I'm back, record everything i...

Tips on how to stay focused during runs?

Hi everyone, I have been running for a year now, and I am still at the 5K level. I love running and I need it to balance my life. I am motivated like all of you to run longer distances, and who knows? Maybe a marathon someday. However, I find it hard to run longer than 30 minutes. Sometimes, I feel ...

Yahoo!

I'm hacking my own thread to tell you about a song I have just discovered on itunes. It was written by Melissa Etheridge who's a breast cancer survivor and totally relates to Run for the Cure. The title is "I Run for Life" and it's just great!!!

Thanks for your replies! It makes sense that RFTC in Ottawa was about 4.3 km long. I didn't feel like I was doing much better than usual. Still, it felt great to cross the finish line in less than 34 minutes when you PB is almost 38 minutes!!! It wasn't my first event and I knew I wouldn't bea...

Ottawa Run for the Cure

Hi everyone! It's my first post on this newly discovered Forum. Thanks to those who created it! I just wanted to know if anyone ran Ottawa's RFTC this weekend with a GPS? I doubt it was a 5K, or I have beat my personal best by over 3 minutes!!! I expect the run was more like 4.5K. Does anyone ...
