Tonight I'm doing a tempo run (12K I think) with dgrant and tallguy. I feel I need a "me" day today so I'm going to go downtown, get my hair cut, and wander. Sounds weird I know but I love just walking downtown, going into whatever shops I want, and people-watching! Plus there's a Niketown right by ...

If you're running by yourself I'd think it might be hard to do Fartleks ( fart... hee hee). It might be easier to go to a track OR if you have a garmin, to do a few fast stretches within an 8 or 9K run that are 400 or 800 m (say 4 400's and 3 800's). You could do 2K to warm up, the workout (ab...

I think the tech shirts would be the best, obviously (especially the Brooks ones- they have mens' and womens' and they FIT, and they're cool). Maybe in the meantime though, the easiest thing would be for whoever is the genius 8) that designs the logo could email it to anyone who wants it. People cou...

OK Me again. I don't know what the heck is up... you know how I said I was feeling so blah? I went out for my run, fully expecting to be draggin' it to manage a fairly slow pace. Turned out I felt great! I did 9K around the boardwalk (did some laps basically, because it's cooler by the water) with a...

I pulled something in my back at the gym on Friday, but the pain was starting to subside...Last night Lisa and I were walking on the boardwalk and she 'challenged' me to do chin-ups at one of the old Participaction stations they have along the path. Anyway, 15 chin-ups later I re-aggravated the pul...

I don't know why, but I almost feel hung over today. I have a headache and I just feel totally blah. I'm going to try to work myself up to running 10K later on tonight when it cools down a bit... I don't know... I think I'm just bored! Maybe a bit down because I can't have crap. I'm sure I'll snap o...

FOr sure you should do it! It will give you a really good idea how fit you are. I am going to attempt another 10K before my marathon and I'm also making a point of doing a 10K time trial every month to ensure I'm actually getting in better shape. The only thing is that it might be hard to rearrange ...

On the contrary. I think for entertainment's sake, we should have a thread where you can specifically type when you're wasted.

Re: Should I Wear Headphones For My Race??

Well, should I...what are the pro's and con's?? For all distances. YES!!! But don't turn your player up so loudly that it becomes a safety hazard. That point is very true. Music can be a huge motivator. I know it definitely speeds me up, and it can help me zone out when I'm not feeling good. At 39K...

There were a couple threads on the "other" site as well that discussed 3 day vs. 4 day plans. People were quite polarized.

Why not try it for a couple of weeks (one you are HEALED BBoop!!!! Not now!!!!) and see how you feel?

I like the one where you lie on your back, bend one leg and put the other one up, and gently pull the raised leg towards you. I meant it more as a resource for people to get new routes. For example once I get sick of running up the ravine, I could look and see if someone has a... say... 25K route I haven't tried yet. Or... for people who are travelling to cities they're not familiar with, so they could do their long runs a...
