5 days per week vs. 4 days per week but similar mileage . . .

Hi everyone, I was hoping I could get your thoughts and opinions. Last year, for the most part, I was on a 5 day per week schedule and I ran 2,000K for the year. Most of my runs were around 8K, with a longer one mixed in every week or two. By the end of the year, I was starting to feel a bit worn do...

Re: New Trail Race - Sticks n' Stones Trail Race

Never done a loop race or a 50K (would like to one day!) but sitting here on my couch, I'm envisioning one of my standard 5K trail routes and I have to say, that thinking of doing that loop 10 times seems allot less daunting than a single 50K loop. No idea why. It sounds ridiculous I know, LOL.

SUNday . . .

Bright blue sky here this morning and on the negative side of zero, so I hit the greenbelt for a 5K snowshoe run.

Re: Chocolate Mint Day Sunday?

Hamstring survived (barely) a slow 5K run on a glorious day. Maybe this is the start of Spring? I wish it was the start of Spring, but alas, I think we're setting ourselves up for disappointment if we think that, LOL :) That said, I'm taking full advantage of the weather. 10K for me and I agree, it...

Sunny Saturday . . .

12K for me this morning under sunny skies. It was about -6 or -7 when I went out but it felt much warmer under the sun. It was probably around zero by the time I finished up and I was actually overheated by the time I was done. I should've had shorts on.

Well not quite yet, but it sounds like it will be!

Just a short 3.5K loop on snowshoes for me in the March Highlands.

8K for me today. The sidewalks were in very good shape. It was only about -10 I think, but a bit chilly on the face when the wind picked up. Overall, pretty decent conditions though.

Ha! I did the same followed by 8K on the TM. My muscles are going to be feeling it tomorrow.

10K for me in the light snow. Actually had a guy on the opposite side of the street take a picture of me as I was running in shorts, LOL. Thought to myself "geez, has he never seen a guy running in shorts, when it's only -2 and snowing?" I dunno, I was actually quite comfortable out there!

Fresh air Friday for me. I put on the shorts and a light jacket and did a nice 12K loop. Despite being overcast and a bit slushy in spots, it was a really nice run. +1 and no wind to speak of.

Re: Leader Saturday

I did about 7K. Roughly 2 of that was on the roads heading to and from the trail, and the other 5 was a snowshoe run through the greenbelt. That was pretty fun and a great leg workout. Heading back home after taking the snowshoes off, my legs felt about 30 pounds lighter, LOL.
