I had a goal and a race plan, the goal 46:xx, the plan 3k at a comfortable pace, 3k a bit faster somewhat uncomfortable, 3k pushing it, then ...

Way to go Erin, I was looking for you and your sister but I didn't see anyone that matched your description. We also sat and watched the Heavy Events, and the Massed bands in the rain too, it was a great day. I'll post my report tomorrow.....

little mini tempo 5k today, up to race pace and then slow back down, I'm feeling pretty good, had to hold back a bit. I feel ready for tomorrow's 10k race.

I'm going to run like I hate the ground...... just rip it up.

no running today, but did a hour or so yoga class. Anyone else do yoga? I find it great for stretching out the ankles, calfs, hips and hams.

I'm also training for an October Marathon, and I have a 10k race this weekend, I'm gunning for about 46:00 and I did a taper, but I also moved my LSD from Sunday to Saturday to give my body a little extra time to recover. Then during the week I've done a speed and a tempo day a little shorter then n...

Did a bit of a tempo with hills run today 1k warm up, 4k at about 4:45/k, 1k cool down. It was a lot tougher then it usually is, I feel like I'm working hard but not moving very fast. I'm starting to worry about my 10k race this weekend in Fergus. It's the first 10k that I've actually trained for, u...

That's what I generally do too, where I run I can't go 1/2 km without some type of incline.

Here is a wee blurp I found about hills. Hill Repeats It's rare that you find a great distance runner who didn't get fast by training on hills. Kenyans and Ethiopians all train on hills. I find that hill training is one of the best workouts that you can do. It provides great stimulus to the cardiore...

I did some speed work today, 2k warmup, 1-800, 2-200, 1-400, 2-200, 6-100 trying to mini taper for 10k race this weekend. This is the worest speed work session I had in a long time, I had no gas in the tank for the 400. I did have hard training week last week. Hopefully I'm just recovering and this ...

If your only plan is to finish then Yah go for it. You sound like you have the mileage in, and if you are attempting a 1:32 Half then you definitely have some good power.

Go for it. Good Luck.
