3.5 km this morning. I have to take a week off running after this so wanted to get something done beforehand.
And, I just realized the RR 20 min challenge is coming up this week, so I guess I'll be walking it again this year!

Just checking...the gear order thread says July 27th is the deadline. Is there a different deadline for the buffs or will there be two orders going in?

I am working from home this morning. It was my first time dropping Harrison off at day care (Ted took him last week) so I thought I'd like to be close by. I put him in the jogger and ran him to day care and then ran back sans baby. 4.5 km round trip. :) My jogger's front wheel wasn't on very tight, ...

Great Wet North Volunteer report (part 2 added)
I got up at 4:15 this morning to get ready to go. It was not raining then. By the time I left, it was pouring, and then suddenly about 5 minutes east of the race site, it abruptly stopped. Here is T1. Probably only about 25% of people dropped their bikes off yesterday: http://i76.photobucket.com/alb...

Yup! They've been saying thundershowers all night but it hasn't happened. I think it will be more a case of "scattered showers" like yesterday where it would rain for 5 minutes and then be sunny and pleasant for an hour or two, then a short shower again. Crossing my fingers for nice weather for all ...

I can't make it on Saturday. I'm missing the volunteer briefing, too, because Ted has a work event. (Which reminds me, I need to make sure our babysitter is still available!) I will hopefully see lots of you on Sunday, though. Definitely post bib numbers when you have them. I had offered to help out...

Hey Tri Princess. Sorry, I'm coming into this discussion late. Poser? Yup, me too, but one that has a lot of fun. :) What part of the city do you live in? My tri club (St. Abert RoadRunners and Triathlon Club, http://www.starrt.com) is awesome and has athletes of all ages and levels. They are a frie...

Marg, congrats on your sub-2 half! Jen, a 45 minute hike is a lot of exercise. I bet you're ready to have that baby! I took Harrison with me this morning so that his dad could sleep in (which he didn't) and my running partner didn't make it. So we shortened our run to 5K with a couple of extra break...

Volunteering for GWN Half Iron July 6 Stony Plain AB
I officially am not competing this year at GWN, but will be out at Allan Beach first thing race morning, probably directing traffic at 5 am and then helping with transition. :) I'm hoping to become a spectator after dashing home for a quick nap. I was wondering if any other maniacs would like to com...

gjen gets her Dolling on and gets 'er done for Spencer
I don't know how to follow waynerdog's awesome report. He pretty much summed up the spirit of Spencer's Maniacs today. I'll admit, when I woke up at 4 AM to the sound of thunder and heavy rain, I was a little concerned, but it turned out that we had only a little bit of spitting rain and almost perf...

Yup. There is a big shopping area in St. Albert that has grocery, walmart, home depot, as well as a bunch of smaller independent stores. It is a little too far to walk, but I would LOVE to bike there with Harrison in the trailer to get my groceries. However, I don't consider the highway a safe optio...
