Re: 12th Annual Run for The Toad (reg'n open)

Thanks for all the info!! I am indeed in Etobicoke now. Actually very close to the Humber...but didn't know theer were trails outside of the regular path. I'll have go hunt them down in the spring. It may not hurt to take a look this weekend if you are comfortable running on packed snow. Let everyo...

Re: 12th Annual Run for The Toad (reg'n open)

I am certainly interested...now I have to figure out hwere to find some trails on the west side of the city.... This is a bit late, but how west in the west end (your user name and "west end" confuse me)? High Park has some. Also, Hilton Falls, Hockley Nature preserve (free parking), Bruc...

Agreed completely.

This is my thought, too. I know I don't want to go back for 2013.

Opinions Please....

As long as the finish for Goodlife is still Ontario Place rather than Queen's Park, I'd say no difference. If the finish is back up University, then I'd say go with Mississauga.

What she said. I am so proud of you, for the dedication and focus you showed during your training and on that Sunday.

Well done!!!

Running Story about a liar liar pants on fire.

Hi Windy :)

I read about Kip Litton. That was incredibly weird.

A race or two missing I can understand, the results aggregators do one grab and results can be updated afterwards. Boasting about non verifiable results seems odd.

I've run into the same thing as La, more than once.

Re: ING New York City Marathon 2012 Application

I'm taking the approach of 'wait and see'. It's only Tues. If I have to cancel, I have to cancel - it won't be the first time or last time I've spend money on something and not get the full benefit. No use wasting energy worrying and stressing about it right now. I'll make the decision on Thurs aft...

Races this weekend - Hali - Woodstock -IAU 24 H Championship

The rain let up as it was getting dark. The clouds went away and i got to see stars. There were quite a few drops, but UltraQueenga and Viking made it through. When I left Hali, they were sitting, happy and tired, around the campfire.

I was happy with my race (26k).

Saturday in the park

I ran 25k at Haliburton this morning. The weather is insane. The rain has only let up a few times in the past 24 hours. It's going to rain all night, too. I got up this morning to see to 100 milers, 50 milers and 50k folks off. Then I crawled back in the tent to sleep some more until my 25k race sta...

Races this weekend - Hali - Woodstock -IAU 24 H Championship

Good luck to all across the pond. Weather forecast at Hali tomorrow is insane. 50+mm of rain! Are inflatable dingys allowed? I'm at Hali and can indeed confirm that the weather is insane. The rain has only let up a few times in the past 24 hours. It's going to rain all night, too. I got up this mor...

Re: ING New York City Marathon 2012 Application

I am recalling the folowing FB conversation from 2008. The picture in question is of me putting on long pants after the finish, just outside Central Park. Conversely, I was never so happy as when I could pull on* my Lulu pants at the end of the marathon in 2008.

*this was hindered by my inability to lift my foot more than two inches off the ground. CinC was witness to my pain.

Wow.

There is so much in there for the cyclist to feel fortunate about. Yes, good thing you decided to stop and well done on the stalking.

I promise to wear my road ID all the time. I'll admit, on rare occasions, I skip it.

Bleah.

I chatted with a bunch of people, which was nice. But, about 2k into the woods, something tweaked in my left foot and I was hanging off the branches, unable to put any weight on it. @#%! After some rest and ice and ibuprofen, it's feeling better, but my ego isn't.

Re: Dirty Girls 2012

I was up at the course for about three hours today. UltraQueenga and Viking are working really, really hard. so is rabidchipmunk and whole bunch of other folks. I saw WGR briefly this afternoon and he was looking good. Glad to hear he got to 100 miles.
