I had to take care of my daughters this morning, so I decided it will be a non-running day. I may go to a pilates class after work. It is one of the rare time I can go to the advanced class with my favourite instructor. Yesterday's ART appointment went well. I got the green light to return to my re...

Going in for physio this morning to find out exactly how badly I injured by back. I couldn't sleep at all last night because it hurts too much to lie down.

Nice! That's way under 40, and you felt comfortable. I'd say you're in good shape.

I had one of "those" runs...where everything felt great and I could have gone forever. For a number of reasons I have been unable to get outside running since ATB and I've been itching to get out there. (plus, I spotted BG & QuickChick on the weekend so that just inpired me more.) Anyway, I dro...

Last hill session this evening. Speedwork begins next week. :D I love the track. The transition from hills to track is my favourite part of the training cycle. Last year I skipped the track, though, and instead ran intervals on Bremner (behind the CN Tower) at lunchtime. In any case, I love how the...

http://thejoggler.blogspot.com Great Blog! Has David Letterman called you yet? No Letterman yet, but I am scheduled to teach Evan Solomon how to joggle for an upcoming feature on CBC News: Sunday. Good idea. I've always treated Around the Bay like a marathon in terms of recovery.

I have bad allergies, got virtually no sleep (thanks to randomly screaming 4-year-old), and have sore legs and a pulled back muscle, but I did get it a good 20-mile joggle in Niagara-on-the-Lake yesterday in the pouring rain. The beanbags were at least twice as heavy at the end of the run. I did som...

I do have orange beanbags already, but I only use them in training because they're heavier. Anyone have any waterproof, sweatproof, run-over-by-the-occasional-car-proof Running Mania decals that I could put on them?

Re: congrats

You are super fast. I thought I was the fastest Maniac till someone told me I got beat by the Joggler. Kudos to you. This was funny. At the after party, someone said "roadrunner was the fastest maniac today!" Someone else says..."umm...the joggler went under 2 hours." ;) his face dropped. ;) Great ...

Wow! That's an awesome time. Question: How do you keep your focus while manoeuvring through the crowds, especially in big races like Boston? That's the part that amazes me the most. The start of the race is always nerve-wracking. I try to stay all the way off to one side. When packs of runners form...

Re: Congrats!

Congratulations Michal!!!! Did you break the 30 Km world record? If not, how close were you? I don't think Guinness has a 30K joggling record listed, but I'm going to submit it to the Book of Alternative Records. As for Carla, I second the motion that there should always be a Tigger at the bottom o...

The whole race was surreal. It was like I was floating. This was the first joggling race where I felt so comfortable with the juggling that I sometimes almost forgot it was there. Then I'd realize i was juggling and have a panic attack. The more I thought about the juggling the more I slowed down, s...

Rob, it's amazing that you pulled off that kind of negative split on the Bay course. It's shows that you have the patience and toughness to run a good Boston.

The hills - both up and down - will definitely put more stress on the calf muscles. Ottawa's not as hilly as the Bay, so hopefully it'll be less of a problem there. If you get a cramp in a race, it's worth taking the time to slow down or stop for a minute, lightly stretch it out and do a little self...
