Re: Bruce Trail Speed Record: 2012 Attempt
Bad news. Quoted from Barb Campbell on Facebook Sadly, Charlotte Vasarhelyi has been forced to halt her Bruce Trail record attempt after seeking medical advice related to severe hamstring strain. Her injury was likely triggered by the slick trail conditions on the rugged, rocky Tobermory-Wiarton sec...

Re: b_squared can't resist Bread and Honey
Pretty solid result for no training, 2 minutes is no biggie anyway really. I like that race too, I'll get that guy as long as he can leave his walker to run the race.
Hey you forgot to mention you got a age group award for that effort.

Re: Sulphur Spring 100 Race Report (my 1st 100)
Dude when you showed up after 6 laps (120k) I fully expected to see a walking, sizzled up, dried up, mumbling zombie, what I found was a guy that looked liked he had just started, smiling and speaking full comprehensive sentences. If I had not known better I say you skipped some laps. I couldn't wai...

Re: A question for the experts
I'm no expert, but for that goal and some what knowing your history I'd say don't do any specific speed/interval training. Mileage, up to 80-100k per week, and a tempoish run on tired legs of marathon race pace or a bit faster of various distances. 5k-12k Marathon aren't about running fast it is abo...

Re: Sulphur Springs Trail Run
That was some fun running last night! I loved every minute of it. Strider made my job easy, just stay out front and run, I never had to motivate him, he was totally preprared and knew exactly what he needed to do. It was a pleasure sir.
Congrats Brother!

Re: Why the marathon?
For a marathon there is that feeling at the end of just being happy to be done, the feeling of accomplishment no matter what pace that isn't the same of just being done a hard 5 or 10k. For me, it is either about racing against other runners or the challenge of a grueling course, I tend to look for ...

Re: Pacer for Sulphur
Looks like I have signed Robbie-T to a 2 loop contract. I can think of no one better to yank my butt around those last two loops. Thanks Brother. Will be a fun time. Good stuff! I am available for a loop - so Robbie, if you are doing two loops because no one else is available but prefer to do one, ...

In all seriousness, as much and I love and respect Sir Doonst and all he is capable of doing for me, I feel Robbie's pure strength, management and organization skills, combined with his strong parenting instincts will serve my needs much greater. Plus those shorts Doonst wears, I am not sure the af...

Yeah I guess Robbie will do okay. But I was thinking about it! Here's some points to consider, why I might be a better choice: -I know the course. Six times I think I've done it, plus some 5 Peaks on the same trails. Actually I've been trying to drag Robbie-T out for years! Heck, I just did a mount...
