Cabot Trail Relay Race Leg 17

Too late to join the RM team, Hermes and I went to the Cabot Trail Relay Race with an enthusiastic group from Montreal. I was lucky to be assigned the final leg, one that I have been eager to try. This year Leg 17 was 18.7 km, one kilometre longer than in previous years. The first 2 km are level, th...

Congratulations!! As everyone has said 3:40 is an excellent first marathon time. I am not so sure that anything went wrong. It is just the nature of the beast. I think you'll find the next one easier. The interesting thing for me in this report is the fact that you had plenty of nutrition. My...

Here it is, Mother's Day, and I saw the last patch of snow on Mount Royal! It's a gorgeous day in Montreal! Hermes and I went for a run on the mountain and met some members of our CTRR team. I'm very excited; it's only two weeks from now. While we were out, our daughter and her fiance prepared brunc...

Congratulations on a great race. You ran the way I intended, nice and easy at the beginning and a quick, glorious finish.

It was great to meet you finally. And thanks for being the official scribe for our gang.

Shinsplintz is coming with me to the Cabot Trail as my official road crew and adoring fan.

So neither of us is available for NCM.

Shinsplintz tells me that he very much enjoyed ATB and would gladly impersonate you anytime he doesn't have prior commitments.

Congratulations! Excellent time.

There is real joy in this report. Yonge Street is a blast, especially from St.Clair to Davenport. I expect to be thinking "whee, I'm really running!!!" next time I do some significant downhill running. Thanks for posting.

So close. I was in a very similar position a few years ago. Big PB but not enough for a BQ. I felt pretty numb. Came back and trained like an animal and qualified with 10 seconds to spare.

You'll get this thing. Congratulations on the huge PB!

This positions you well for the rest of the season. A good spring tune up.

The anticipation, the pacing and the conclusion are almost identical to my recent marathon. Sounds very familiar.
