Re: Mississauga vs Toronto Marathon (May)
I'd say the opposite. But I've only ran the Missy half once. It was a nightmare **** coming off the highway trying to find parking. I promised myself never again. Toronto International aka Goodlife used to be a beautiful course run in the fall with Rosedale Valley Road in its full fall bloom. Now it...

Re: Headlamp/Lighting
Regardless of how much I'm fine with my energizer basic one, I can't say enough about the battery - probably an energizer battery. It's 3 yrs (since I got the thing) later and it still works great.

Run to work - and back Friday
I did my bi-weekly run commute, then since I have the day off, 2 rounds on the 800 loop at QP, and back up and home. I smiled when I got back to the beltline near where I met my running buddies at 6:40am (3k in for me). I wanted to ask people if they'd believe me that I was here so early and still o...

Re: Sportinglife 10k "Big News"?
I'm expecting something that relates to charity/partnerships.
I like the course. It's been largely the same since I've been running it in 2000. Though we went to the distillery side and finished more central back then = best course.

Re: Army Run Sunday
Probably the wettest I've been in a while. The heavy rains came in and our 4 different times. Lots of flooding in the trails so I basically felt like I was swimming. Had fun running in the group though

Re: Lisa P Running for the Kids
Great job Lisa! That's too bad about the strollers/walkers. But yeah it happens. Were they part of the event? or were they just there in their normal lives? I'm having trouble with the race results - looks like a F00-09 (aka under 10 year old girl) won it in 16min?! Unless its was someone being push...

Re: Frosty Friday
I ran to work again for 14.3, somehow ended up with 99-100kms for the week on 6 days.
I was soo hungry I almost stopped after 5k at the 1st subway but then my stomach started to cool down and I got into the grove.

Re: Replacement for Garmin 610
Fellrnr is one anecdote. It's amazing how many people listen to him for the bad stuff. I have a F2 (fenix 2) and it's been terrific. Too bad on timing as I just sold my old 910xt :( The F2 is good if you like the every day form factor. Some people have had issues with it but clearly not everyone! Mo...

Re: New Shoes Thursday
We ended up changing it as I expected. The LT tempo will be during my "LR" Sunday. I'm apparently running with recovering Olympic elites and sub elites. Not sure what that means. Today was 17.2 with 6x2min @ 5k pace pickups, 2min rest. This is why I put things like "LR" in bracke...

Ohh new shoes is always fun.
I think I'm doing an 8k tempo tonight but I'm never really sure. Going to find out soon enough. Probably 13-15k overall. We'll see

Whisper Quiet Wednesday
About to head out for my run commute. Now the sun only gets up at 7am! I'll be well in my ways and might take a headlamp.
Enjoy the day!

I love when I have a rest day scheduled and I wasn't really planning on it but then I get busy so I don't have to feel bad about not running.
Rest day for me, coupled with re energizing over a couple of beers tonight for a friend's birthday

Waterdrops in every direction Saturday
Honestly this was the first time I've run in the rain in long time - at least a month? Wed I had run in the AM so I skipped the night storm. Can't remember before that. I ran 26.5km with my group. Was only supposed to run 23 but we were having fun trying to out run each other. Lot of water coming of...

Actually managed a 4 second pb in the B&O run. I guess there's hope for me this year afterall.
It feels really good to actually think this year wasn't a waste.

Out before the rain Wednesday
Was supposed to rain (again by 7:30) on my run commute. I rather like running to work: downhill, cool, not much traffic. 13.4kms. But a bit burning the candle at both ends; last night our team did a speed session from 6:30-8. I managed 7x1km @ 3:38 pace consistently with a 400m jog recovery. At leas...
