There's a "clearance" link on their homepage. As of right now, 1000+ items. A small selection box at the top of the page for different sorting options.

Re: New Balance Replacement model numbers

Ask at a Running Room or other running-specific store. New Balance used to go through a sequence with each model when they did their yearly "updates"; 760, 761, 762... 769, then drop back to 760 and start over again. However, a couple of years ago they changed model numbers on a lot of the...

Re: Hi Guys. 5 year layoff may have worked.

Hi Maniacs! Ages since I was on here. Really bad ITB problems progressed from 07 to 08 then early 09 I severely tore my groin in the gym in a way they call a 'career ending injury' in soccer. I tried a few times but always had really bad pain after a couple of weeks, but last year I got up to 8 mil...

Re: Music While Running

I rarely listen to music outside, even on long runs. I prefer to be aware of the surrounding sounds and lose myself in my thoughts. BUT today I'm going to pass the miles w/ Jim Cuddy and Blue Rodeo because I'm going to see them in concert tonight! Can't wait!!! I've had the biggest crush on Jim sin...

Re: Teacher missing after run

But you know mothers... they think a road race of any distance is a "marathon." ;) Plus, I don't think my husband (who has been at every single one of my races, either racing or spectating) could tell you how many marathons I've run. Never mind my mother. One thing that makes me thi...

Re: 1/2 Training Plan Question . . .

That looks like a 'To Complete' plan because you never actually run half-marathon distance until race day. Why not follow the schedule, but if your long runs are already longer than what is on the schedule, keep them longer throughout. That way you'll have run farther than 21.1K before race day, pos...

Re: Your Favourite Winter Running Jacket

I just wear a light shell and change up the layers underneath. +1 Even "light shells" can be tricky. They need to block the wind and yet breathe. So suggestions for brands would be great. North Face? Mine is Adidas. It is not waterproof, just a windshell targeted for running. Waterproof-b...

Ragnar Relay Ontario

I don't know if anyone has posted this yet.

May 30 - 31 (That's a Friday & Saturday.)
Cobourg to Niagara Falls.

You can tell it's an American group putting it on as all distances are listed in miles.

Re: Cadence

One caution with this: We all have a tendancy to run downhill with big, long strides, because it feels fast (and fun). +1, first race I ever ran was a 10k that had a steep downhill and I ran it with big floaty strides. Buggered up my knee for months. I'm the opposite. My very short stride was alway...

Re: Cadence

Unfortunately, the Running Room discontinued a watch they made that had a cadence timer - basically, a built-in metronome - but they mislabeled the function as "Pace". ( I've told them for years that they need an editor who actually knows the English language. ) A small metronome would wor...

Re: tight quads

A runner in a clinic I taught years ago turned out to have compartment syndrome and he had no pain. His lower legs would feel numb and you'd hear a slapping sound as his feet hit the ground. He wound up quitting the clinic, which, I think, was training for a 10K. This was in his first year of runnin...

Hi. Welcome to RunningMania. I had a similar problem - on-going back pain - for almost 20 years until a massage therapist diagnosed a problem with my left hip-flexor. Her prescription was different from that you were given and worked like a charm. However, I've never had the super-tight quads feelin...
