Up at 4:45 and out for a run. Just under 2:30 on the roads. When I got up and checked outside it was dark but no precipitation. By the time I got ready it was snowing. Aghh! Legs feel pretty good this morning (not runnable but good). Just as well as the sidewalks are still pretty nasty / slippery. 40min walk to work with pack. Tomorrow I will add more weight to the pack (I picked up a few extra Yellow Pages phone books to shove in the pack... Have a great day everyone!

Calves are still pretty tender from sloshing though the snow / ice on Saturday so decided to do a brisk walk instead of a run. Loaded up the pack and walked to work. Pre-amble Every race that I do from now until July is a training session to prepare my body for Raid the North Extreme (the only race that really matters for me...). I decided about a week and a half...

Strider, good synopsis of the trail and conditions. Thanks for breaking trail for the first lap. You were like the Pied Piper on that lap... I lost balance a couple of times and stepped off the trail and was over my knee in snow. Were you in microspikes on the other 7 laps? Were they any help? Don't...

There was talk of extending the cutoff by an hour otherwise there would be no 50k finishers. If that doesn't speak to the difficulty of the conditions... That was bru-tal...Yeah, he extended it so you could head out for a lap as long as it was before 4:40pm... two of us left with 5 or 10 min to spa...
