Re: Hot Water Tank Thursday

Track interval workout - 12 x 400m alternating - quickish and recovery. 5.4k in 35 minutes. Last track interval of this training cycle.

I tweeked my hamstring on Sunday and it started complaining for the last couple of laps.

Re: Mother's Day Sunday.

37k long run, longest run before San Diego marathon at the beginning of June. Had a bit of every weather, cool and dry, steady mist, major sun shower and finally some sunshine. It ended up taking 4:17 which wasn't too bad considering my wrong turn and back tracking on a seriously muddy single track ...

Re: Sprinkling Saturday . . .

Easy 12k mostly dry with a light mist at the end. It was nice to sleep in a bit and also to be able to relax after the run before heading to Dragonboat.

Unfortunately, I don't think the weather will be as nice tomorrow for my long run.

Awesome job Bryan. Sorry I didn't get out to cheer you on but it sounds like Cheryl did an excellent job with cheering.

Re: Racing Sunday

Had an enjoyable but sluggish run in the sunshine. Around 8k done in ? minutes (I forgot to look at my watch).

Great run Jen, Rob & Bryan. I'm not going to make it down to cheer unfortunately. It felt like perfect weather for running.

Re: The Short Long Thursday

We did a longer midweek run as one of the gals wanted to do a Craft Beer run. It was a good run and great beer and snacks. We beat the rain for the run but did have to walk to skytrain in a light drizzle. Small price to pay for the sunshine we got to enjoy in the afternoon. The run ended up being 9k...

Re: Podium Saturday

Good run this morning. Schedule called for 32k but I only managed 29k in the time I had available. Missed one seabus (I thought 2minutes would be long enough to get a coffee  so I was late getting to paddling). It's good I got some food though cause it was a pretty intense paddle. The weather ...

Re: Songful Sunday

Did the Sun run 10k today with 40,000 of my running buddies. After hard runs on Thursday and yesterday I wasn't too optimistic about today. It ended up being fine, if slow. The weather cooperated for a change which made me really happy. Ended up finishing in 63 minutes.

Great hill run tonight - 5 hill repeats for 6k, my butt was on the verge of complaining but I enjoyed the run a lot more than I expected to after a long workday.

We started our run in a drizzle but the sun did make a brief appearance.

I managed 28k of a planned 29k run before I ran out of time (and energy).

Cool! Which distance?

I registered for both 10 and half.

Mary just posted on Facebook that she did too. :)

Yup, I should have gone to sleep early like I planned. Instead I have signed up for two more races in the fall

So happy it wasn't raining. Second last run with the clinic. Participants were all happy which makes us happy. Did a slow 8k which was all I could manage today.

Managed 24.5k of the prescribed 29k. I ran out of time to to the full workout but after starting the run with 10k of uphill I don't know that I could have finished the run even if I had the time. It was also disgustingly wet, I am so tired of cold and wet runs.

ALL DAY I've been telling myself, "just go out for 5km.... just 5 or 6km.... just for half an hour...." and all day I've been sitting inside in my pjs drinking coffee and listening to music.... It's so rainy and dreary!!! I don't think the rain ever stopped, it was really gross :x

Did 6k of track intervals. There were just two of us tonight. I was feeling quite cranky so ended up running on my own while listening to tunes. I was really happy that the rain let up this evening, I am so-o-o done with the rain.

Ditto on the running in drizzle here. I am so tired of the rain, though i have to say I didn't really notice it all that much once we got running. 50 minutes with the clinic, I didn't check our distance but probably somewhere around 6-7 k.

I foolishly did 27.5 today when the schedule only called for 26 :D it drizzled for the first 90 minutes or so but then it dried up. I would have preferred to by dry for the whole run but my Icebreaker shirt was pretty good so I wasn't too miserable.

Re: Size of your running shoes

I find North American sizing to be totally inconsistent. I range from size 7 to size 8 depending on the brand. European sizing is much more consistent so I just have to pick whichever NA size is closest to 38.5 European.
I don't like black toenails so I make sure the shoes are a bit long.

This, most runs it takes me 40 minutes before I'm feeling warmed up and enjoying it (that feeling usually ends around 20 minutes later  ).
Needless to say I'm not a huge fan of 5k races.

23k today, pretty hilly route, I don't think this will be one of our regular routes now that the gals know how many hills there are at the end.

I had to run for the train directly after the run to get to dragon boat practice. Great day no rain and even some sunshine, yay!!

Mostly sunshine here, even a brief stretch that was almost warm before we turned the corner and found the biting breeze that had been lurking. 8.5 k done with the clinic. Clinic workouts are no longer rest days :)
