I did 15 km on the trails today, and the colours were beautiful. I'm now full of turkey and pie.

Re: Around the Bay 2014

I registered this week, before the price increase on November 4th. I'm looking forward to going back to Hamilton (not to mention Burlington!). I ran in 2011, and DNS'd in 2012. I'm glad to see they have start corrals now, and even gladder to see that my HM time from this past summer qualifies me for...

We took the kids to the Thanksgiving Day races in Guelph today. I ended up pacing my 9-year-old son for the 1 mile, my 4-year-old daughter for 100 m, and my 7-year-old son for 1K. I wasn't prepared to run today, but it was a lot of fun!

Ditto. There were only a couple of muddy spots, and while there were some large puddles, there were clear ways to go around them. Ordinarily, I enjoy running through them, but not when I have that far to go.

Re: Run for the Toad Saturday!

Woo! 50K done, and the weather turned out to be great! I finished in about 5:20, which meets my goal of ... finishing! I knew when I came in after three laps at about 3:50, that I wasn't going to be under five hours, and I think they added some hills into the last lap. I refused to be defeated by Sk...

I have trail shoes. I still expect mine to get soaked. A change of shoes isn't a bad idea, and dry socks would probably feel nice on the last lap.

Re: 12th Annual Run for The Toad (1 more sleep!)

Updated forecast for tomorrow: Mostly cloudy, 30-40% POP, temps ranging from 15C at the start to 21C at the end of the race. That's much better than the previous forecast! Yes, I've been watching closely, and it looks like we're going to miss the worst of it. After last night's rain, as well as ton...

We're going to be out of town that weekend, otherwise I would be interested. They do have a similar event in January that I might be up for.

I seem to have acquired a stomach bug from my kids. I had planned to run 8 km, but I might be better off with a rest day, and recovery for Saturday's race.

Oh, I'm in. I'm not sure that racing this past Saturday was an advisable thing to do, but I don't think any permanent harm was done.

I slept in this morning, which may be a subconscious response to it being so cold outside. Also a not-so-subconscious response to being taxed at work. I escaped the office and went for a 10 km run after lunch today.

25 km of trails this morning. I don't remember such a long run where it rained from start to finish. That, combined with rain all last night made for a very splashy run.
