I went to my ultimate practice last night. Did one drill with them, then sat and watched. My knee was hurtin'. I'll give it another go tonight at soccer. Our final game, and we're short women. :( I've already warned the team, though, and they've promised to get a strong lead early on so I can just r...

I take it that's a "no" from Sir Crash!

I am definitely thinking about it. Won't register until after PEI. It will depend on
- how I'm feeling
- how rich I'm feeling
- my friend in TO.

I'm a definite 'maybe'.... more of a probably, if those three factors work in my favour. :)

Yoga ... OK at the "Y"?... or a video?

Hi, I'm thinking of starting to bring some yoga into my routine, now and then, at least. Unfortunately, with soccer, ultimate, and a course (and running, of course) it looks like, for much of the fall at least, the YMCA (conveniently, right next door) might be the only place that fits my schedule. S...

Hmmmm..... Nov 6, huh? Near Toronto, huh?....

You've got me thinking. Might be due for a visit to my best friend. It'll be 3 weeks after my marathon. If my pocketbook can afford it, it might be time to meet some Toronto Maniacs....

Hi Kiza, Can't say anything about the race, but maybe can help with the resto... There's one called le 940 -- it's at 940 Mont Royal. That one's OK, but I wouldn't really recommend it. Pretty blah menu. I'm told, though, that the one across the street (and just a little bit west) whose name I can't ...

Rest day for me today! Advil and ice on the knee, and some upper body work tonight, and that's it. I have an ultimate practice tomorrow, but it seems I'll just be going to watch and toss a bit, unless my knee makes some miraculous overnight recovery. Hoping it's in shape for my last soccer game on W...

Wow Heather! You battled through pain to post a 1:54 in your first 1/2 marathon? Fantastic. Just thought I should clarify.... this was my first half, but I have done two fulls... I kind of feel bad, with all of you congratulating me on doing so well on my "first" half... which it was, but I've done...

Heather's Happy Half - Montreal Report

My first half. And my first race report. :) First of all, I slept well! I guess that's a benefit of a last-minute race decision -- you don't have chance to get all worked up. Well, that, and I had planned it as a training run, just kind of thinking of getting in in 2 hours. After leaving home a litt...

Well, I stayed out a little too late last night. Or, rather, this morning... so I got a late start, but I did hook up with a friend and his friend (who's doing the half tomorrow) to bike over to the Race Expo and register. Then we biked some more. And now I'm tired. So it's laundry and a bit ...

[As I said, I'm holding that decision for later, and I am open to making it if I feel the need at the time. I will see how things have gone in a few weeks. So far, both marathons have been pretty easy on me - I've been sore for 1 day and both times, played ultimate 2 days later. (Yeah, not quite as...

Wow, by now in the training I would have thought you'd have done a 32K run and a few 29-ers (and be at at least 60K weekly mileage). Yeah... you would think  ... but I've never even gone as high as 32k for either of my other marathons. 27 k was my highest, and even that, only once or twice. I...

To answer a few of the questions/comments.... Robbie-T: I'm now just aiming to finish the marathon. I originally planned to aim for a good pb, but things really got sidetracked this summer. :( QMP: I did 24km last weekend, so I'd go for about 27 - 30 this weekend. irongirl: This is my third marathon...

10k or half - Seriously, I don't know what to choose

Hi, OK. I need to make a decision. I want to do ("do", not necessarily "race")one of the events in Montreal this weekend. (I've already kinda asked this, but not really outright.) My situation: - Full planned for Oct 16. - Mileage has been low due to soccer once a week, ultimate 2x/week - Have, howe...

I think I'll do it. :) I guess I just won't go for a PB, given that I need to do a long run this weekend.... guess I'll do that tomorrow. Um, can anyone tell me or point me to HOW MUCH the reg'n fee is? I can't seem to see that on the site... it tells me "ways to register" but not how much it costs....

Bah! Online registration ended midnight Sept 7!!

Just when you've got me thinking about doing the 10k.

I was thinking I could do my long run tomorrow, and the 10k just for fun on Sunday...

Now I'll have to get my butt down to the expo. Bleh. :(
