Re: Hump "Bauang La Union" Wednesday.

Checking into the daily thread to report several days of running. It was a pretty good weekend - 11 km on Friday in warm sunshine, 23 km on Sunday in not quite as warm sunshine, 10 km on Monday evening and 7.3 miles on the TM this morning. I did consider running outside instead of the TM, but the co...

It sounds like fun and I'll join the chorus that is suggesting you start together. Corral 2 is nice and close to the front. Lucky!

Re: New South Wales Wednesday

I ran an easy 10 km on the indoor track. My post-ATB quads are loosening up, but not enough for anything more than "easy" as yet. :)

Re: Thirsty Tuesday in Southeast Asia.

Good morning! I took a rest day yesterday, and then today was an easy half hour on the elliptical for me, followed by some upper body and core work. My quads are pretty stiff and sore after Sunday's Around the Bay! They were great on Sunday, and most of the day yesterday, but by late afternoon - ouc...

Re: ATB Sunday

Yes, ATB Sunday and a good day at the races it was. One of my favorite things about Around the Bay is seeing a lot of Maniacs and other runners, and as usual that was fun. Some very good results for people today! As for, me, this wasn't supposed to be a race, but starting in a corral with fast peopl...

Re: Continuing to do things you aren't good at...

I think in general, most people tend to enjoy doing things that they're good at, and/or things at which they can see progress as they learn and practice. If someone perceives that they are not good at something, there has to be some motivation to continue. Do they want to get better? Do they care e...

Re: Huffing Puffing Thursday

After five consecutive nights of insomnia, I finally cracked and took a sleeping pill last night. A good night of sleep felt amazing, but I was predictably a bit groggy this morning. I had an interval workout scheduled, which I got through, and it actually felt fairly solid. I was definitely conser...

Re: Huffing Puffing Thursday

Easy 10 km run on the indoor track this morning. It should have been outdoors but I wasn't organized enough for that. Felt good to do something after two full days off, and definitely burned off a little stress!

Re: Wonderful Wednesday

Checking in after not posting for ages. The good news is that my recovery is continuing and I've even had one 32 km run. The bad news is that I'm spending way too much time at work and my energy is just drained. So far this week I've taken yesterday and today as rest days. After working late, and ge...

Re: New ATB route

I am going to be there as the 255 RW pacer. My son is going to run with me. I think that translates into a 410 marathon pace. Good LSD for the 350-400 marathoner or a MP 30K for those just above 4 hours. I'll look for you and may need you to drag me into the finish! This will be my third 30+ km run...

Re: Friday Thread

Freezing cold Friday here, although I see the sun is out and it *looks* warm outside! Took an unplanned rest day yesterday after not sleeping well on Wednesday night, then ran 11 km this morning on the indoor track. It feels so good to be running again, even though it's more effort than it used to b...

Where-is-the-day-going??? Wednesday for me. Crazy time at the office for sure. I did run 7 miles on the TM this morning (mostly 10s and 1s) so if I have time for the pub part of Runpub, I've earned it. :) On the weekend I hit two milestones in the whole injury recovery process. Not only did I run bo...

Re: World Nutella Day Friday

Where did Thursday go? ;) No run for me last night after all - the doctor was running late, and by the time I was done, going to the gym was not nearly as compelling as going home to see how my cat was recovering from his Tuesday dental surgery. He was still a little subdued, but this morning he was...

Re: Polar Vortex is over Wednesday?

It did feel nice and warm this morning when I left the house but unfortunately (as Lisa noted) that won't last. I haven't checked in for a while, but I have been continuing my return to running. Longest run so far is 15 km, and I'm hoping for 20 km this weekend. Still doing the run-walk, even though...

Re: When will it be warm again Wednesday?

Well, I think it's supposed to be warmer by the weekend. Hope so! This morning was my first run since last Tuesday evening, when I did 10 km, since I was out west visiting my family and although I had good intentions to run at least once on the weekend, it just didn't happen. It was pouring rain and...

Two days of work this week and then I'm off to BC to visit my family. I can hardly wait. It was hard to get myself off my couch and out the door yesterday, but I did make it out late in the morning for a 12 km run. This is my longest run yet and I definitely felt okay afterwards. My foot feels great...

Always TGIF!!! The first four days of this week were super high stress at work, but today looks to be much calmer, thank goodness. I had planned to run this morning but my foot felt a little "off", and I was seeing my treatment provider for a 9:00 a.m. appointment, so I decided to spend s...

Wun Wintry Wednesday here! It's sunny but this might be the coldest day so far this winter. I started the day by running 9 km on the indoor track, using 10s and 1s instead of 5s and 1s. My foot is okay so far, a little bit of discomfort but not painful. It seems counterintuitive but apparently it's ...

IMHO best running weekend in Canada. Great organization, good course, great city and fan support. I completely agree! But I haven't registered. If my injury recovery holds up, and I can train to finish London, then I would love to do Ottawa as well. But I likely wouldn't be able to make that call u...

Happy New Year! This is my first day back at work since December 23, and I am still feeling the remnants of "the cold" (woke up with it on Christmas morning). It is crazy busy and my brain feels like it's a step behind, so kind of a tough day. But this too will pass. ;) I did manage to run...

Can't think of a suitable word either! I'm feeling like Christmas came early since I've actually started to run again. Just a bit, but it feels so good! Sunday was the annual Solstice Run, and I knew that even though my treatment provider has been encouraging me to run, that 10 km was really pushing...

Wonderful Wednesday because I've done a very little bit of running this week! Today I walked 2 km on the indoor track,...

Treacherous Thursday here - lots of snow and it's still coming down and I'm sure there were lots of accidents today. As predicted, this morning's workout was shoveling snow and unless DH gets home way before me, this evening's workout will be the same. We are supposed to get temperatures above zero...
