Sunny Sunday

MEC 10k Race this morning. :)

It was actually a little short. Strava says 9.5km, and Bryan said that he measured a tiny bit short too, but close enough.

I came it at 1:04:xx, which I was happy with, all things considered.

Shout out to Mary for cheering and providing watermelon and gatorade!

Re: Final Friday

I was just a spectator today. 8) My office and our downtown office were playing baseball against each other. But I don't play baseball (me and team sports... there's a reason I run... it's a solo sport!!). So I went to just cheer and spectate and babysit some gorgeous dogs that one of my colle...

I was commuting when it was going on so I missed it, though I did see a lot of people on the sidewalks looking at it through glasses and telescopes and boxes and things.

Sunday, Bloody Sunday!

Ok just a little bloody... I got attacked by a blackberry bush and my arm is all scratched up... it's going to hurt in the shower... Just a 5km loop with a friend who is also wanting to get back in shape. It was our first time running/hiking together. She was complaining about all the climbing I &qu...

Re: SUNday . . .

I have to say, I wasn't impressed by the Sylvia. The service was very slow, and the food was mediocre. I had the west coast benedict (because Bryan raved about the benedict) and it was ok... my potatoes were extremely skimpy (I got what... 5 potato bites on my plate?). Price too high for what I got....

First I had brunch with a bunch of maniacs. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170813/9ded12696d0b645a495de0da365a51a9.jpg Then I ran from the restaurant, up through Stanley park, and across to waterfront station. Now heading home via Seabus. (8km total) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Re: A Typical Texas Saturday.

as Mary mentioned, so lovely to see the sky and mountains this morning--no smoke! And the air smelled so clear and fresh today. I didn't run but my mom and I took my niece and nephew to lynn canyon (their first time). At one point my niece (7yo) was running ahead of me on the trail and she tripped a...

Re: Fighting Friday

we did Lynn Loop, which is about 8km, though strava says 8.7km.

It was still stupid hot, even after 7pm. But the good news is that the air is clearing! The sky is blue again! We can see the mountains!!

I made a running "date" with a friend for tonight so I can't bail. He's picking me up in 15 min so at least I will get out. It's my first run this month.

Why are rich people drawn to endurance sports?

Not at all. We're just tired of reading your nigh-identical, sermonizing 10,000 word diatribes month after month, year after year. Especially after you told us you had no use for us and were leaving forever. Maybe I shouldn't say "we" since I can only speak for myself. I'm tired of reading...

Re: Why are rich people drawn to endurance sports?

I don't think it is about the pursuit of pain. I think it is time and money availability; plus I didn't work with my body all day. Of course it is. It provides an artificial and additional sense of meaning and purpose on top of the objectivity of a race result. Would you possibly be able to admit t...

hell, I'm only 39 and my body is already slowing down. It has nothing to do with endurance sports. If anything, running has made me healthier.

Re: Long weekend Sunday

I went to a spin class. First in years. And first since my epilepsy diagnosis. Conclusion: won't be doing that again. Had a VERY intense partial in the middle of class. I think it was the combo of high heart rate, high breathing, low air circulation, high stimulation (loud music, etc). Too many trig...

Re: Mosquito Sunday

Not a run today but a hike, about 8km, up BCMC and then continuing up to Dam mountain, and back down to the chalet and then I took the tram down. Gorgeous day, though the flies (yes Mosquito sunday!) at the top were pretty bad. I don't think I got bitten too much, though maybe I just haven't noticed...

our skies are starting to get hazy here too... it's getting noticeable, so I assume that's from the interior fires too. :( I almost didn't get out today. Tired, moody, discouraged, headachey. Finally laid down for a nap at 5pm and napped until 6, still felt crappy, then told myself that if I bussed ...
