Re: Sports Drinks - useless or worse? (TV alert: Marketplace

I was thinking that the need for electrolyte replacement, and absorption of sugar and electrolytes is individualized. For example, in my biking group, we have a gal who can go ~ 100 K without anything other than water, and on the other hand, we have a man in the same group, who needs to eat/drink ev...

Re: Teacher missing after run

The runner and Smitherman's partner seem to have similarities. Leave, come home. Leave again never to come home. Very sad. :(

Re: Metatarsal Stress Fracture

I had one. Taping it up helped a lot. Something I would recommend for your vacation, as you'll likely be walking around a lot. Watch out for soft sandy beaches, and uneven ground. The only other thing that helped was some sort of laser treatment my physio provided, and time. Though, yes, you would t...

Re: Surviving Indoor Trainer H-E-double-hockeystick

I have a pinch flat on my training wheel (thanks DH! ), and haven't been able to set it up yet. I do the same as Eme, except I have an old, barely working computrainer for my "program", and usually catch a movie, or just the news on the side... 90 minutes is about all i can eek out ...

Re: Carpal Tunnel or...?

If shoulder blade, stop all planks and push ups. Oh crap! Did about 30 burpees and 30 pushups today... Will be rolling! How are you feeling? did you get in with your RMT? I actually slept fairly well last night! Just a couple of short wake-ups to shake out the shoulder, hand... Nope, my RMT didn't ...

Re: Carpal Tunnel or...?

I think it's stemming from something in my shoulder blade area. I have been rolling it out, splinting my wrist, and taking Aleve. I have had a much better sleep last night, and hopefully, my massage therapist can fit me in tomorrow. :)

I will book a massage appt for Wednesday, as it is getting worse, even today... :( I'll takr Aleve tonight. Hopefully I'll be able to sleep. And your fans demand a report back on Wednes...

Ugh. Up again! Ache in my trapezius then wrist, then sleepy, prickly thumb, pointer finger, middle and ring fingers. Took 2 Advil and rolled my shoulder blades. No relief.

Carpal Tunnel or...?

Something is keeping me awake at night, and it's getting worse. I wake up b/c my right hand, particularly the middle and ring finger are "asleep". There's a bit of toothache-like pain in the hand, wrist and forearm, as well as the shoulder area. Not sure if it's a pinched nerve or somethin...

Good. I'll just keep doing the assisted pullups, and work on all the other stuff to build strength in my lats, traps, deltoids and forearms!

Re: Ham roast dinner?

I don't like a sweet glaze on my ham, 'cause then the leftover meat is too sweet for pea soup. I do pour Vernor's on the ham though, and stick cloves all over it. I make slash marks by cutting lines on the horizontal and then the vertical, about an inch apart. through the skin, into the fat, but not...
