Re: Friday never hesitates...

Welcome, Michel! Stressful day yesterday and a stressful day coming up today. So I suited up and went out at 7:15 for a run before MrsBG left for work. Felt like crap. Stuck it out til I go to the next major intersection (a little over 1 km) and turned around for home. 2.47 km at 5:38 /km ... not gr...

Re: Wednesday whirls away

4.16K in 23:44 for a 5:42 pace. Bright and sunny, 9C with a brisk wind. Passed by a guy who probably weighed 140 pounds soaking wet (maybe less), who wasn't breathing heavily at all. Must have been his easy or warmup pace. Oh well. I'm happy to be under 6:00/km for any distance at all. I'm going to ...

Well, somehow that went according to plan: 2.65 km walk to work in 25:00, 5.79 km loop to come home in 35:03. Not too shabby. An hour of activity on a Tuesday? I'll take it.

Re: Hello Tuesday

I went to a visitation for an old theatre friend who passed away last week. I hadn't seen her in probably 15 years or so. Stayed up late with my girls when I got home and had no energy to get up and run this morning. I'm going to run home from work, before my guitar students come. Which means walkin...

Re: Sunday running

Today's run was the end of Week 5 back on the roads for me. 5 weeks of consistent 4-5 days a week running. 10.4K in 1:05:34 for a 6:18 average (10:1s). I'll take it. Funny, the effort felt a lot faster than that, even with the walk breaks. Oh well. Good run in the rain. Rest tomorrow.

Re: Late-start Thursday thread!

Now *that* felt like a good run. A great run, in a way. 6.24K at a 6:00 pace. I ran a truncated version of an 8K loop I used to like. Problem is, the first 3K are mostly downhill and into the wind; the last 3K are mostly uphill, but with wind at my back. I was only doing the first and last 3K (so I ...

Re: Wednesday April 11

I was so tired today, I somehow wound up taking a nap before my run. I was a little sluggish out there to start with, but eventually found a stride. I don't know if it was *my* stride, but I found it. 4.06K in 24:05 = 5:56/km.

Re: Tuesday

4K became 6K. 5:47 average pace. I knew I was going too fast, and I didn't think I could keep that pace for 4+ km. Guess I thought wrong. We'll see what happens when I try to run the same loop tomorrow. And then I have to plan a shorter loop for Thursday.

Yippee!!

Heal well, Marg and Jac. :(

If I don't go out and run my little 4K run now, I won't go. So I'm going. I thought I'd have a late lunch, but apparently I'll be having a REALLY late lunch.

I finished the C25k and am now about halfway through the 10K program at the RR. I am trying hard to keep my mindset straight as I am a lot slower this time around.

Re: I'm Starting the Easter Sunday thread

10.38 km (10:1) averaging 6:39. I'll take it. Going to cut the long run back to 8K next week before trying to ramp up any further. It was a beautiful morning for a run. Stayed at the top of the hill to avoid the climb back. Maybe in a week or two I'll start doing a hill day. If I want to run down at...

Re: Sensational Saturday

Finally managed a planned run on a Saturday. Fitful sleep at the inlaws' last night, followed by 5.5 km at about a 6:30 pace at 8:30 this morning. Beautiful sunny morning on a gently rolling country road with narrow, turf shoulders. Good enough. 10 km tomorrow, but somewhat slower, I expect.

Boring Meeting Thursday

21:17 running off post-traffic jam road rage on the tiny track behind my kid's school. Garmin says 3.8 km at a 5:36 pace. Not sure I believe it. I couldn't keep up the pace though, and stopped just after 20 minutes. Still crabby as $@#%!

Re: Boring Meeting Thursday

Good Morning! Oh-dark-thirty is getting to be just too hard, especially when MrsBG has the early shift. So I'm going to have to carve out some time between jobs to get in a 5K this afternoon. Day off tomorrow, then I have to figure out the logistics of running in the country on Saturday. Might drive...

Re: Wednesday - are we there yet?

Just shy of 8K (7.99 after correcting the Garmin track) at a 6:29 pace. Beautiful, mostly clear, sunny day at the beach. The water was the most ridiculous, unreal turquoise colour -- and me without my camera. Not sure where the wind was coming from, but it felt like I was running into a headwind no ...

Re: Sunday - don't be a fool!

After 3 weeks back in the running routine, went for my first double-digit LSD run this morning. I had a headache and didn't want to go out in the clouds and wet and cold, but eventually decided to head out for 10 minutes and turn back if I wasn't feeling it. Slugged through 10.43 km at a 6:40 pace (...

This must be THURSDAY ...

"... I never could get the hang of Thursdays." - Arthur Dent So this morning, I was dog tired and slept late. And MrsBG needed to leave early for work. And I had a work thing to take care of before I left. So I got out there about a half-hour later than I had planned, and I was in a hurry....
