Hi everyone, here's my monthly spammy from the MRA. I REALLY hope I can be back in town for this one, it should be great.
The first race/walk on the 2007 MRA calendar is fast approaching. It is the Frostbite Festival Run, 5k Race/Walk on Saturday, February 10th. It starts at Festival du Voyageur Park, 866 rue St. Joseph in Saint Boniface at 3:00 p.m.
It is the first race in the Asics Grand Prix Series so there will be 2 pairs of Asics running shoes as random draw prizes for all race participants as well as other draw prizes for runners and walkers.
To register on-line please go to: http://www.mraweb.ca. The on-line registration will be set up in a few days.
Please get your entries in as soon as possible as it helps the race director plan for the amount of pea soup, bannock and dessert needed (YUM, YUM!) and makes race day registration run quickly and efficiently.
If you attended last year's Frostbite Festival Run you know what a fun and unique event it is. There are pictures on the web site, if you haven't already seen them.

hmm... I hope I don't have anything planned that day
I'm definitely hoping to do this.
I've been waiting patiently (sort of ) for MRA to have their 2007 running schedule. It's my first year of "races" and can't wait to get started. (never thougt I would ever be saying that)

Frostbite Festival 5km
Thanks Natalie for not letting this event die. I had a great time running in it. Hanging out with Maniacs. Now that I have run it I can put more energy into helping organize again. There were less runners than last year. I am sure if you had been able to see things through it would have been much more successful. The darn freezing cold temperatures did not help either. Were you in contact with MRA much before the race. It's a ton of work for one person. So if you are back next year maybe we can team up.
