Wow, it seems like it was a bit of a nightmare at the Ottawa site-- we didn't get numbers to wait. The longest part for me was trying on the race shirt for size. I've been to this package pickup site at our Bay for two years before today, and it has always been fine.

As for the pedometers-- they may seem to "work", but they log way more steps than you actually are doing. Just saying.

Woah! I heard about the issues in Ottawa today and I do feel bad for my colleagues out there. We had a few computer issues early in the morning in Winnipeg but we seemed to get through those pretty quickly. Here's hoping tomorrow is smoother!

It's still a great race with great shirts, medals and race kits. Best of all, it's for a wonderful cause.

It shouldn't be too bad, Lisa. If you're doing the 3K or 1K Run with DD, you don't have to arrive too early.

Much better... I arrived at 10:45 (doors opened at 11). I was first in line. Got in and out in about 5 minutes.

That said, they were still having a few computer glitches and it was really packed and crowded in no time.
I feel bad for the volunteers, they are real troopers.

Yes, two days of parking downtown and 100km driven. If it weren't for the cause, I would not do this race again.

You can also get your race package on-site on race day (during registration) if going downtown is inconvenient. Ours isn't downtown and there's free parking, but it's not great for out-of-towners to have to drive to Vancouver just to get the race package.

I also find it odd that people do this race for the fundraising aspect, though, because very little (if any) of the race fees go to the fundraising. You can fundraise separately and offset your fees, though.

Just to add-- I went back there today to get Steve's race kit, and again, no issues. Doors opened at 11, I got there at about 11:10 and was done in 5 minutes.

Too bad you couldn't pick up your gear at more than one Bay location.....

Since you don't get your shirt/bib number and chip assigned to you until you show up it wouldn't matter which location you went to.....I'm sure HBC in Ottawa could run two locations.......You can buy Sens tickets in many locations across town, why not have two locations for race kit pick-up?

Perhaps on the online registration form they could have which location (downtown or Bayshore perhaps) you'd be planning to pick up your stuff from as well as preferred shirt size to help with the proper distribution of resources.....

I went to pick up in ottawa yesterday around 2pmish and it went GREAT! there was a long line but it went smoothly through. 4 computers up and very nice girls (and guy) behind them. so pleasant.

The t-shirt try-on first was fantastic, i really like that aspect as my body is harder to fit. And i LOVE the race-kit contents...the aveeno 55spf is super awesome. if only it would be sunny out

No problems in Montreal today at 13:30. Took about five minutes.

He's driving me to the race... lol.... well and he may run with me too.

The shirts, shall we say, are quite generous, as far as sizing is concerned Men's Medium fits at least like a Large ... but, it does have a zippered pocket on one size ...

And, yes, it'll go great with my matching buff or B-Tube as they refer to theirs ..
