Determing Interest for the Cabot Trail Relay 2009

Postby q » Mon Aug 11, 2008 10:02 pm

Hi, I am determining the amount of people from RM interested in CTRR '09. The race is May 23rd and 24th and you can write off the 22nd as a travel day.

I am hoping there will be enough people interested to put together a couple of teams for 2009. I think the interest is there, but I don't know unless I ask. I have always tired to fill the team spots from people from RM first, and would like to continue to do that.

In previous three years, I believe (I hope), we've had a lot of fun.

My idea for next year is to have two teams, the fun loving one. Plus, I would like to put together a "Shallonge" type team.

If we have enough for a "Shallonge" team, we can certainly discuss what goals/expectations we should have. But right now, I think the most basic goal should be at LEAST a top half finish. That may be a pretty tall order, but I certainly would love to give it my best shot.

Thanks for your time.

I would be interested in participating at CTRR for a fourth year, but am also thinking this could be a good time to take a year off from CTRR to do another race (maybe Ottawa???). So, that puts me as a "maybe" on the "fun" team.

Maybe I should try this race in 2009. I hear it's a lot of fun. Are there any hills?

It would be great if we could get all those folks who have said "one year I'll run this race...." to focus on doing it in 2009!!!

(that's the next time that the CTRR falls on a weekend where we won't have the ironkids with us, well, we'll have a 1.5 yr old with us though!)

hopefully, it's also the year that I'm training for IMLP again - and CTRR seemed to work well for me last time during my training! :)
i run for me.

Of course, I would be up to running two, but I know of a few other people interested in the shallonge but are not signed up yet, so, we'll see. I'm not too worried about that. It's VERY early in the process.

But we definately have enough interest already for a "shallonge" team.

I suspect there is enough interest in a fun team too.

That is so Ian to want to outdo himself...
I'd be happy with leg 3, 6, 7 or 8... with a preference for 7 or 8.
I have a feeling Sanders is in too. :D (but he's too busy watching the Olympics to say so.)

I was planning to run a leg for the Shallonge team, and one for the fun team. So Strider, we can run together up North! Hopefully...

Nick, there were no place mats this year! However, I'm very happy with my print of the same pic, as now I don't feel compelled to get a full set of place mats. :-)

I'm in for the fun team... if it wasn't for my knee last year I know I would have hit the mats. I'll be slimmed down and back in shape enough for this year.
