Wet Windy Wednesday

Postby CAW » Wed Dec 10, 2008 6:59 am

I alliterated because I know IET hates it.

It is rainy and windy here and 11 degrees.

There is no more snow...

Scotty left at 0630 for CFB Gagetown for overnight again. And both kids are sick with a croupy cough...so I have to call in to work...and then take them to the doctor.

I have a day to rehydrate myself, since Scotty and I had to unwind a bit last night after finding out that his Christmas leave will be starting 4 days late.

So...I don't foresee any activity for me today...except a marathon session of baking.

Brownies
Shortbreads
Truffles
Dark Chocolate bark
Rum and Butter Pecan Tarts

Tonight is 8:1's with the LTR clinic, so I will tag my 10km steady on to that... should be a good time on the snowy roads of Orleans.....

Hope everyone has a safe day!

Wet and mild here in Toronto this a.m. Waiting for traffic to pass and will head home.
Apparantly a snow day at home ..so I will be greated by 2 happy teens!
Planned 12k today when I get home, Tmill or road will depend on footing but after a couple days not running, I am itching to get outside.

I am turning into a slug  Last week - gyming and running all over the place. This week - nothing since Saturday :?
MUST get out there today at lunch otherwise the slug transition will be complete - hopefully for a run (but it's SO windy  ) or at least the gym.

Happy Hump Day RM :!:

Last night we got freezing rain / snow, so I will leave the bike at home and run to work instead (I feel safer on my feet than on wheels in these conditions).

Have a great day everyone!

It's a Windy Fozen Wednesday here in TO.

runpub tonight. My plan is for 11K, but the roads/sidewalks are super slippery after our freeze up early this morning. Hopefully by tonight, people will have salted (yeah, I know, wishful thinking  ).

Boy, I'm glad I went for a run last night! Managed to get in 17.4 k in the slosh along the Humber. It was a corn-soaking, character-building type of run.
Today I'm hoping to do 10k if it's not insanely icy out there. If...
:o Crash not riding his bike today is scary news that Ottawa got really nasty ice. Good call, Crash.
Have a toasty warm day, everyone!

Nothing planned for today except working. Making it through an entire day will be a victory for me at the end of the day! Then have to study for the bar tonight--secured transactions, awesome.

After a week teaching a course in Pinawa MB, overeating and sitting on my duff I have to get back into the routine tonight.

It may hurt.....but it has got to help. Must have packed on 3-5 lbs!

Recovery weeks are so easy. If I wasn't nursing a cold I think I'd be bursting with energy.

Anyways this morning was an easy 8k across crunchy snow and ice while the temperatures were dropping. I'd been hoping to bike to work, but with icy roads I'm on the TTC yet again.

Have a great day everyone.

Apparently, the Chaudier Bridge (sp?) was reopened this morning from Gatineau to Ottawa ... surprisingly, considering that they deemed it unsafe just this week, with up to 2-3 years to restore it  :?:think:

Wow! What a difference 24-hours makes! SNOW, SNOW, SNOW!

Nothing on the schedule (workout wise) for me today.... busy catching up AFTER yesterday's 6 hour hospital visit (delays getting there, delays in the treatment centre, HUGE delays getting home to my Mom's, then HUGE delays getting home home! I'm glad I didn't try to hold myself to any workout plan last night!

Christmas Band concert tonight at dd's school (so no workout again tonight!). Maybe that will bring some festive spirit in to our lives! That or hitting a shopping mall, of which I've not yet done. Must get started I guess!

Happy Hump Day.

Just plain cold & wintery here on the prairies :D

Brought the running gear again for a jaunt at lunch - so far the easy 30 minutes with walk breaks are working  I'm feeling a little sore but it's in the quads not the achilles - hopefully I just need to shake some rust off

Have a good one everybody - :D
