I'm willing to announce that I am officially training for an unofficial Manitoba 1/2 marathon. It's not official yet because I haven't fully decided if I even want to run it. I'll give myself until at least 3 weeks after I've started running outside to make it official or not, predicated on whether I survive the transition or not.

And on top of that, the American Diabetes Association has a Tour de Cure happening in Fargo the day before, and honestly I like cycling better than running but there's way more money involved in that than the run. So if I decide to do the ride I won't be doing the run.

Planning on the half.

Work will dictate if I make it or not.

The only thing I'm sure about is that I'm not running the full. Otherwise I haven't decided. I may do the Super Run with my niece. She really wanted to do it last year but I was running the full and couldn't do it with her. So, who knows at this point.

I think Bingerunner has been thinking about the half because he hasn't run the MB half before.

Andy, are you coming to visit us again?

I dunno yet ... but, this year may be the year of the 1/2 Marathon for me :shifty:   and, if I do, should allow more opportunity to have more "fun" .. time and $budget$ trumps my race/travel plans this year ... in particular for 1/2 marathon races .... :? :?

I totally think that when it comes to travelling for a race the half distance makes the whole trip more 'enjoyable'.

You know you are always welcome here in Winnipeg. Last year was tons of fun.

Anyone interested in the relay again?

Me and the boy should be up for it, we just need three more.

I'm pretty sure I'm doing the half, I'll decide after the Policemen's 1/2. I had wanted to do the full again, but just isn't working out that way.
Good Luck on your first Darth Tater

I am toying with a lot of things...I had originally planned to run the Fargo Full, but ankle and achilles issues prevented me from ramping up the training...A small part of me wants to get in a marathon before the summer, and it would definitely help with training for a fall marathon.

(I vowed that I wouldn't run MB Full again...but then I really don't know what I am saying most of the time when I am running...Dwayne can attest to that...I have agreed with many things after finishing a race:))))
22 halfs (PR 1:42:02) :)
5 full (PR 3:48:21)
...and a smattering of adventure and trail races thrown in for good measure!

All running is on hold until further notice .... :0(

I am planning on doing the Manitoba Half Marathon this year. I did not race it at all last and wiped out on my rollerblades following people I knew that were in the race. A week before my first Half Ironman.

This is the year of Halfs. 2 half marathons 2 half ironmans. and 4 olympic dist tri's. 1 or 2 10ks as well and some ultra races and adventure races. 8)

And if you're interested, you might want to talk to Natalie about her bib, she was saying she might not do it.

Friends asked if I wanted to do the relay. I usually just watch hubby do the full. I ran the half once and really disliked the whole experience (not much of one for big races where you feel you're being herded like cattle through the finish).

I don't think I have much more than 10K's in me this season. I'm still having ITB and glute issues.
10K's and adventure races are the name of the game this year.

There are quite a few of us heading down to Fargo. Perhaps we'll be able to meet you down there.

Have you never been to Grand Forks and tried the Paradiso there? Yummy mexican food and they most definitely serve beer.

Also, runlong, there's a M&G here in Winnipeg being organized, come join us if you can. There's a thread in the M&G section.

Lastly, and on topic, I think I will either be running a relay leg or volunteering again, maybe both. :D
