Sunday Sunday!
Trying to decide whether to go to the pool, do a short run here, or nothing. I'm leaning toward the short run and then some strength stuff at home.

I have set an all time best for total mielage in 1month & there are still more days left in the month
WTH Crash... are you TRAINING? Good job this month!
For the last few months, I have been more or less off the No Training Policy. Seeing what I have done at Montreal 21 & NCM Half, I am hoping to have a good time at one of the following: The Canadian, Oasis Half or Army Half... I have no idea which one yet or I can implode
It's been a cool summer so far as Hell froze over on the thought I am training... unable to heat the face of the Earth

overcame my "i had an unplanned run yesterday so don't have to run today" mental and got out of bed to meet up with the 2:30/half to complete group at the Denman RR.
OMG. 10.1K in 1:24. hills. shut up, keep up, survive. i am terrified about missing 4 weeks and trying to keep up while on vacation. holy crap.
discovered a blister from yesterday that i didn't know i had. yowsa!
maybe i would have done better in bike shoes?
swim workout this afternoon. shut up. keep up. survive.
now i am just really sad that my hammock has disintegrated but think i will go sit in the cold water for a bit.

I was going to ride the Gats this morning but decided I should rest up for tomorrow LSD on the trails. I want at least 20 km. The trail I will run is 25 with a gorgeous ski cabin at the half way mark so if I want to see it, I have to run 25!
I spent the morning trying to reserve 4 nights of camping in the Eastern Townships, much of Ontario and Tremblant. Since I am so late I will have to move from one campsite to another mid stay in order to accommodate the days. The good thing is that should force me to pack lightly.......ha!
I decided on Mont Tremblant because it is close, has the fabulous trails I want and I would love to see if I can better my time (from 2007) running up the ski hill.
So, I am starting to get my stuff ready - tent is pitched hoping for a short downpour so I can make sure it doesn't leak. Now, I'm off to get some supplies. Must remember to borrow my brother's mountain bike. Oh yeah!!! SO. Freaking. Excited!!
Sonia, if you are still thinking of a day trip to trail run with me, I'll be closer now.

Running 26.2 miles is not limited by physical capabilities but rather by the mind.

I just read on ctv news about 5 Ottawa cyclists being hit and gravely injured.

My holidays are done. I had a great cruise, and the boat did not sink. I still ran 125km in the last 2 weeks. So much for rest and relaxation.
First LSD in 3 weeks. 26km at 5:45/km. Now, I need to get back to training.

That accident is horrible. Some of the names are published on the Ottawa Citizen website. One of the cyclists is a local triathlete.
Finished my ~11k run. I've run everyday this week! I think I'm going to go to bed early . . .

Sorry to read about the Ottawa cyclists!!
I had an enjoyable 26 km LSD with Bumbleg, TequilaSheila, and Errol today. We ran the Haelth Valley Trail/St. Jacob's route which was not nearly as muddy as the last two weeks. Much evidence of the trail rides conducted by a local stable though!!!!
Nest weekend our LSD will be run at the RunForTheToad Practice on Saturday. We are planning 2 loops ( 25 km ) to compensate for our scheduled 28 km regular LSD next Sunday.
Have a good week folks!!

Dh is out of town so finding kid free time to run is difficult. Oldest ds is at a birthday party later and Tikey has offered to take younger ds so that I can get a run in. It is desperately needed, with the van broken down, hubby gone and having the kiddos on my own.........gotta run to relieve some stress.

Ran with the trail group for 1:34 in the Lac Philippe area. Excellent sunny weather. Those of us who remembered $9 cash for parking parked at Breton Beach, and those of us who didn't parked outside the gate and starting running to Breton and were fortunate that Dave drove by late and drove us the remaining 1.5km.
We did a ccw loop around the lake starting on a short bit of #55, then #54 going up to Lusk shelter and back. A gradual rolling descent of 135m over 3km including a trip to the caves and back (not going through the caves this time) brought us to the snowshoe trail. I had not run this trail before but had snowshoed it a few times. It was runnable but quite gnarly. I heard mention of poison ivy but don't know if there was any. Dave or whoever was really driving the locomotive picked up the pace - nothing too extreme, only averaging 6:27/km on this 35 minute stretch but pretty close to my limit for running this without being too hard on the body and enough to put the average HR to 148. Followed that with a little swim across the lake and back, maybe 800-1000m total, with another guy.

I rode about 30K and then had a nap in my car in the parking lot..
About 1200KM of driving and an Olympic tri within 48 hours will do that to a person I guess.

after my mini-attempt at running this morning, I rode my bike to work and back for 5.5 miles. I really need to start doing more than work and back, to get my distances lengthening. :)
