I just want to run again, but my goal is to be patient with myself in that regard, post-baby :)

My goals this year relate to speed.

5km - 26:30
8km - 45:00
10km - sub60 (hopefully I can get it down around 58:00)
21.1km - 2:15
More cycling/cross-training
Consistent core/stretching/yoga

The most recent issue of Runner's World has a year long plan for doing just this!

run.

i let myself get into a walking habit when running was hard. so back to basics - start over in the right training zones. not walk. lead a learn to run group.

I've finally figured out my running goals for 2010. They aren't plentiful as I'm trying to keep things simple and my goal for each race is a new PB, so I want to be realistic and not overly aggressive.

1) Montreal 1/2M on April 18. Current 1/2M PB is 1:59:11, so hopefully sub-1:59. If the stars align, maybe 1:57:xx.

2) K-Town Tri on August 1. Current PB is 4:15:42. I'd like to go 4:10, with the biggest gains coming on the swim and the bike.

3) Hamilton Marathon on November 7. Current Marathon PB is 4:42:11 (Vegas). I'm still trying to break 4:30, so that's the goal for this race.

ETA: Forgot about Melissa's 10K in September. But my goals for that are party-related, not running-related.

-Major one: Get myself rehabed in the ITB department and stay uninjured from running.

Running:
Beat my only 10K race time (54:50 chip time)...I guess that's a PB though. :)
Run a couple half marathons for the first time (NCM and maybe Toronto Waterfront)

Triathlon (2010 newbie to the sport)
Conquer my arch nemesis, the swim so I can have enough energy to pound the bike and smoke the run.
Complete the 2 sprint distance races that I'm signed up for somewhere in the middle of the pack.
Work really hard this summer so I can do well in an Olympic distance race (maybe Brockville or Esprit).

Last year's 3,694km was not that hard to achieve, surprisingly, BUT, it took quite a bit of time to do, so this year, with no Boston marathon , and more importantly, no Boston qualifying to worry about, I will keep a good intensity, with a bit less mileage, around 2,500 to 3,000km. This will allow me to go skiing for 10 days in Aspen in 3 weeks, allow me for more cross-training, do 3-4 marathons for the fun of it and get ready for Boston in 2011. Easy does it.

Melissa's isn't your race to PB for so many reasons including the elevation and course ;)

There are other PBs up for grabs on that weekend! You can do both...

My main running goal 1:50 half.
If all that you read is everything you believe then let go, then let go, then let go.

Nothing will change if you never choose.

2018 goals: May half marathon, September half marathon

Sitting here with my feet in cold water. NCM was a success. Otherwise, do you run too much? I don't know, maybe. My mind is stuck on daily self transcendence. I wish I could train all day every day. Maybe when I'm old? The people who help in person (trainer and LMT) can't believe me. There is still something out there in ultra land. In october, my goal is to stay on the course 24 hours.

Thanks Lorne for digging this thread up. I give you an A++ for NCM alone!
