Has anyone ever driven from Ottawa the morning of this race? Is it a pain to get to the race site? I was hoping to avoid having to stay overnight and get a dog sitter, etc etc.....

It's getting to the race site that may be an issue unless you plan to get there really early, as there are a lot of road closures, if I recall from last year

It's a closed Track and doesn't use montreal roads, I do not recall any road closures when I was there. Since it is a 10:00 start, I don't see any problem driving down early in the morning, say 06:30 get there for 08:15 or leave earlier

I think they close the access to the island on the Concorde Bridge (Casino access) around 8:00. Then the only access is from the Jacques Cartier Bridge.

Silly question: Are we going to the same bar on St. Paul afterwards?

Hm... Have been contemplating heading home for a few days... I could see my peeps, and some Maniacs, and keep up my streak of doing this race every year.

Aw, thanks. Haha. Actually, waiting to make sure it would be OK to take a couple of days off work. It's a *little* soon after the raise, but the whole thing I'm excited about with this raise is that I'll have the freedom to fly home (and elsewhere) whenever I want without really worrying about it, so I should do it! (Of course, I always and to go home in the summer...) I'll decide later today or tomorrow.

ETA: Or, perhaps I should wait until after I see the PT on Thursday... Hm. Forgot about that...

:) Ha on either time. I seem to have forgotten how to run fast (for the moment). I wouldn't be going for an time goal. (And 1:35 ... no no. I never hit that.)
