Morning Monday

Postby ROW » Mon Mar 22, 2010 3:24 am

I woke up at 2 am in so much pain. My achilles was hurting so much, and i wasn't even moving it. I tried to get upstairs which took about 2-3 minutes which is usually only a 20 second trip. I told my mom. I could barely walk on it, well I couldn't I had to limp and then it started really hurting without even bending it. I actually started crying. I don't cry that easy, so it shows how painful it was. My mom took me to the hospital, I pretty much hopped from the car to inside the hospital. Got in after an hour, the doctor was a runner so it was nice. He told me it was just achilles tendonitis because it seemed like more than that. So now i'm sitting here. It is really hurting and I am not even moving it. I can't even put my foot straight because it is too painful. I guess no school today since I can't even walk. My track season ended before it even started.

Sorry to hear that guys. Row, what is their estimate on recovery?

On a brighter note, recovery from yesterdays 30k is great, legs feeling fine, a deserved rest day today. Off to TO then Miami. No direct flights to Miami on Mondays, just Fort Lauderdale.

I'm feeling OK (sorry, guys!)...... little tender from the TRX workout yesterday afternoon, but I think I'm ready to start increasing my exercise interval and decreasing my rest interval (they recommend 5 seconds at a time).

Looks like the schedule has a 40 minute run on it tonight with some speed play work.
The rumours are true......

Hope those in pain find relief, quick!
Rest day here in gloomy Montreal.
Nice but slow 19K run yesterday. My longest run since Boxing Day! I'm feeling like I"m heading for a slow Montreal 1/2 marathon, but heck, I like to run! That's good enough for my goals. :)
Happy Monday!

Rest Day for me...but I have a feeling I might sneak in a run at the end of today. I have a meeting at 4:00 (not with a client) that is likely to annoy me...I may need to burn off some rage

10k this morning before the rain started. Calling for freezing rain tomorrow morning- I don't mind running through snow, but pre-dawn freezing rain is a bit much. We'll have to see when the alarm goes off in the morning.....
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

5K hills this morning in the damp fog! Hills were much nicer last week in the sunny spring weather :( Oh well ... it is March after all! They are calling for freezing rain here tomorrow to so fog is no big deal in comparison. Was scanning my avg pace on my garmin and I think I've gotten slower  Time to dig out my 'remember the turtle won" shirt! Also time to book a massage :D

Took the day off to get completely better (hopefully). Cough in my chest is moving upwards so hopefully a good sign. I feel like I am breathing through a machine.
Hopefully a short TM run later if everything stays above the neck.
Cheers,
Jill

40 minutes on the elliptical, and some upper body and core work!

Felt good! I had given myself permission to skip this one, as I'm tapering for ATB, but I was up, so out I went.

Have a good one!

Didn't say. I've been off for a week, and this is the most pain i've felt throughout the whole time off. I had one day pain free, but suddenly it started to get painful again. But then again, thats just achilles tendonitis. I'm not running ATB anymore. I'll probably re evaulate in about a week and a half to see if it's gone. If not i'll give it another week and half.

That's a smart idea. You don't want to be off all summer. Would you be able to swim?

Yeah. But i'm only swimming twice a week with club swimming, but going to the Y will cost too much to go every week.

Sorry to read of all the injuries! Hang in there folks...

I'm doing better thanks to the massive doses of cold f-x. I am positive that I'll avoid that cold!

Little apprehensive about ATB...

boot camp this morning at 5:15am - some stairs (double hopping up), shoulder work, lunges....and will stop by the Y on the way home and get a swim in.

weather changing as we speak - it was actually quite nice out at my class time - a bit windy - and the wind has blown something in to make it quite dark now - I think they're forecasting snow.

ROW - hopefully you'll heal fast!

I came in late, so no lunch workout for me. I'll have to go tonight - either right from work, or after dinner. It depends how hungry I am right after work!

Heal up soon to all those that need to!

Rest day for me - the body is a little tired after yesterday's long run.

Shift at the RR tonight, but I am tired already - so I should sleep like the dead tonight.

Hope everyone has a great day,

I guess today's going to be a rest day, since I haven't done anything yet, and I have dinner plans after work. (Having dinner with a Calgarian for the second Monday in a row.... Calgarians... who wants to come next week?!) If I behave at dinner, and get home at a reasonable hour, I might get a little run or a yoga session in this evening.
