Wake up, it's Wednesday

Postby mcshame » Wed Aug 25, 2010 5:22 am

Left calf still bugging me. Did tomorrow's recovery 8k today instead of today's planned 13k with 600m intervals. 8k @ 5:08. Massage appointment today, see if we can fix it up.

Good for you for switching it up, Lorne, and taking care of that calf -- good luck with the massage....

I went out for a short 5 km run this a.m. -- just could not resist -- what an amazing sun rise..... great way to start the day...

Tonight is speedwork with the 1/2 clinic at the track.... :D

:naughty: :naughty: Back to those double-run days again, I see ...

As for me, up at 4:15am again, and out the door at 4:30am for a 15K steady recovery run in the 'hoods of Kanata this morning ... What a gorgeous morning at 15C with a slight breeze, for a run, to wake up the body ... 8) Had to retire my old black Nike Lunarglide's yesterday after my lsd run (got about 425K out of them  which is a lot for me for shoes :? :( ) so, I broke in my white & red Nike Lunarglide's for this morning's run ... :shifty: And, definitely noticed the extra cushy feeling ..

Runpub tonight (and there's gonna be cupcakes!!!). I'll do a steady run of 7ish kilometers.

I had a great interval run on the treadmill after work yesterday (details in my log). 4.2 miles in 40 minutes.

Rest day for me :D I am either allergic to something or have an insect feeding on me in my house! Yesterday I woke up in the middle of the night with my arm hurting and itching. It had 3 bites in it one which really looked like a spider bite. So yesterday was strip the bed and do the wash day. Last night when I headed to bed my back was itching ... I look and have 3 welts of red on by back. This morning I had one more and then out of no where six more. For a while I was starting to think I have chicken pox! So I am glad not to run today, took an antihistamine and be trying to figure out what's up.

Suppose to leave for agility in twenty minutes but I am buzzed from my 'drugs' LOL Might have to take a morning off ..

Morning,

hope your calf gets better Lorne.

I've been icing and resting my foot and it seems a bit better. I will try a 3 miler after work.

Have a good day!

Yoga this morning... maybe a walk or something of the sort tonight. Made a dreadful attempt at a tempo run last night that I have no desire to repeat any time soon. Well, maybe next week. On tempo night. Whatever. :)
Next?

I brought clothes and sneakers to run on the treadmill. But, I forgot a sportsbra. I have an old one that I use for strength work, but we'll see if I end up going to the gym after work or not.

It was tough getting out of bed this morning... Yawn! Went to bed later than normal and was also woken up at 3-ish with a series of clunks and bangs... We are looking after my sister's dog and she fell down stairs (15 or so of them). She seems to be okay. Tonight we close the bedroom door. ;-)

24km commute to work and the same home this evening. No running today. Legs are pretty smoked after three tough workouts yesterday.

Have a great day everyone!

Yep. I am so annoyed at myself for being this clumsy. :?
It's not really bad like then though, just sore since I twisted it while falling on a flat slippery surface.
But it has concerned me that it is always sore to the touch. I noticed while doing yoga that when sitting cross legged (which I rarely do) it is really painful to have my ankle pressing the ground. I'm going to talk to my chiro about it next week.

11.2 done with 6.5 @ 4:46. Right hip bugging but only at quicker paces. May also have been the evening run followed by the morning run thing - a little too much?

Supposed to be track session with the group tonight. I will try for some 2K tempos around the outside of the track (in the weeds) if my body will co-operate. Maybe an oil change and lube job would help???
