Anticipation Saturday

Postby BJH » Sat Oct 09, 2010 6:29 am

Lots of big races tomorrow!!

Today is Albion Hills, the final race of the Southern Ontario 5 Peaks Trail Race series, directed by our very own dgrant.

I'm off there soon to run the enduro, should be taking it a bit easy since I'm racing hard next weekend.
The road to hell is paved. Run trails.

No running today. Heading to the Norwood Fall Fair shortly, then to my parents' place this evening for the Thanksgiving Feast. Should be a good time.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

I'm thankful I'm coming home on a flight this afternoon. Did my last run in Miami across the Causeway with lot's of runners. 2 big climbs in the run going up the Causeway for 10k @ 4:39. I did all my runs down here and I behaved with my eating as best I could, not looking forward to the scale when I get home. T-2 weeks until the anticipation ends.

Goodbye Miami

About 1hr 25min on the trails of Parc de la Gatineau. The first hour or so was before the sun came up. Got my new light system (Ay Up) and got to try out the headlamp. It was like running in day light. Love it.

Good luck to racers today. Have a great day everyone!

A nice and relaxing 3k shakeout run with Sylvie this morning around the race start/finish area in Grant Park.

Kinda weird feeling in my Achilles this week ... Hopefully once it gets warmed up Sunday all will be good .

May go back to expo this morning ... We'll see ...

Safe travels everyone and happy racing :) Going for a run later with BF - never run with him before so should be interesting! I plan to bake today, clean, do my run and then going out for dinner tonight. Will run long tomorrow.

Have a great day!!

All packed -- including orange gloves, orange buff, and orange shoelaces -- and ready to head out to Victoria soon. Part one of the adventure: taking a piece of aluminum foil (needed for chip #2 during race #1 tomorrow) through airport security.

I'm not running today, but I'm walking downtown to meet friends for breakfast, and then were heading to the race expo. This afternoon, I'll rest, and tonight, I'll be heading downtown again for the M&G! Looking forward to it!

Ian: I don't think they'll care about it at the airport, but if they do confiscate it, your pie is wrapped in aluminum foil! Lol

Good luck to everyone racing!

Got up early to get to the Y...8am kickboxing class (fun!) followed by a weights/aerobics class at 9. The weights class was fun, but soooo dorky....the instructor had an affinity for classic Jane Fonda moves and 80's music. Fun, but I wish I could've drawn the blinds!

Rewarded myself with a poutine from NY Fries. :D

Just some ankle rehab exercises, and maybe a nap this afternoon.

I'd be more worried about having the whole pie confiscated.

The main exception is that you are allowed to have a pie at Clearwater Airport in Florida anytime you like.

If I was running as much as he's planning too, that pie would never make it to the airport. It would be inhaled in record time.

24 km/15 miles today @5:29/8:47 - my longest run ever!

Awesome.

I loved that feeling, that "Oh my God I've never run this far before in my life" feeling.
