Fall Back Saturday

Postby ultraslacker » Sat Nov 06, 2010 2:10 am

Don't forget to change your clocks tonight!

I personally am not happy about the time change... I like being able to run in daylight once in awhile (though maybe I should look on the bright side--more night trail runs! ;).

8 miles on the schedule for today... will probably do 8.2 so that my weekly total is even. :P

I wish they would just pick a time & set it for once & for all! How about splitting the difference of 30min & call it even?

+1c & gearing up for a bike ride to the gym! I was sweating it out in long pants & wind breaker the other day so today, I will go back to shorts & windvest!

Happy Weekend everyone!

Didn't end up doing anything yesterday.....too wiped. Been looking forward to this Sat for the whole week - DH is taking all the spawn to swim class, so I have the house to myself all morning.

Going to have a leisurely breakfast, do the yoga I was supposed to do yesterday, and head out for an easy 5k.

Ever since I discovered last week that I oddly really love running at night (with my headlamp), I don't mind the time change too much. My least favourite time of day is that 'grey' period when it starts to get dark, but there's no sunset because the skies are all grey and wintery.

Up early to drive dd to work, having a home "energy audit" finalized this morning, off to search out new glasses then planning on a visit to the gym.
Hoping to put in at least 5K on the t/m.

This will be my 2nd time change in a week. Mexico switched last week while we were there. I totally agree we should all just pick 1 date and stick with it!!!

7k easy for me today followed by mopping the floors (what an exciting Saturday!)

I don't really care, it will still be dark when I wake up in the morning, and in 3 weeks, it will be dark when we leave for work and come back from work. Welcome the approach of winter.

Thanks Lorne for being so depressive!!! LOL

Rest day today, we're off to Vermont tomorrow morning to run RaceVermont.com half-marathon. Looking forward to the last race of the year!!!

I started my Christmas shopping last night and will continue today, avoiding the crowd as much as possible!

Unfortunately no weekend for me this weekend. In to work both days... Will like the extra hour of sleep tonight (although, I will probably just go to bed an hour later and lose it, so it is a moot point...). Agree with Lorne that in a few weeks it will be dark during my cycle to and from work.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Morning!

Was going to go out for my usual 12K in the cemetary, but I felt so good, that I just kept going. The conditions were gorgeous as well! I'm jealous of the folks who are racing in this bright/crisp november weather!

Anners - I considered it, but had to take a pass. Your post made me wish I hadn't!

What was supposed to be a long run on the treadmill this morning turned into a long run outside -14.5 km in the beautiful, cold, windless, sunny weather. Big thanks to my sister for offering to babysit :D .

20 min of yoga and 5.7km run done.....

I'm frustrated as hell. I thought I had a handle on my heart rate zones, but today I just couldn't slow down enough, and slowing down to clomping-elephant-shuffle ended up killing my ankles and feet, and I swear made my heart rate increase.

I'm blaming my higher-than-usual HR on sucking back a gel right before my run......stupid caffeine.

Lovin' it! Really missed not being able to bike this week (work commitments). Putting a lot of miles on the bike (about 240k per week) but it is holding up well. For the most part, ready for winter.

Tempo 10k. Thought I should test out the legs and see if they could actually still run sort of fast and YES they still can!!!! So it only took 3 wks for them to feel normal after the marathon. I am happy with that.

Nice 9 km run today. Change of scenery, ran the not so green section of the Central Valley Greenway to Commercial drive.

Felt fast and a bit tough for the first half hour then it felt really comfortable (I suspect we probably slowed down, will have to check splits later).
