How far do you plan to run each day?

Re: So I googled running daily and I found this
Ive been doing 5.5km-7.5km right now. I am not a disctance guy at all thanks to a child like attention span...
Re: So I googled running daily and I found this
Thats reasonable.
7.5 km / day == 52.5 km / week. A few regulars hear have done around 100 km / week for long periods of time.

A agree ... those monks are a little crazy! I can see why not a lot have completed the challenge. Not sure why anyone would want to try!
Our local running club is doing a 100 day challenge starting Jan 1. The goal is to run 30 minutes a day for 100 days in a row. No set distance, just a set time. I am thinking of doing it but as I am rehabing still I would change it up and run four times a week, walk the other 3. Just make sure I was out there every day. Maybe building to running every day as my body allows.

Now that is the most insane thing I have ever read. The crazy part is that they run in sandals. Now we know why they meditate all the time on their knees, they can't get up anymore!!
Kidding aside, I joined the slowtwitch 100/100 this month, run at least 30 minutes a day. Has made a huge difference in my running as I don't feel tired after my long run. Day 12 today, will go over 110 miles for the timeframe.

Dwayne has run daily for almost 3 years. He works full-time and organizes a trail running series. He walks the dog and puts out the garbage. It's doable!
Edited to add: but not 40 km per day every day...

I work out 2 hours a day during the week and 4 to 5 on the wekends. And I would do this even if I didn't have great marathon times (which I didn't until a week ago!).
Like I ran over 4 hours this morning, for no particular reason other than I like spending tiem that way and it enables me to periodically go for 8 hours. This past 5 days, I worked out at least 4 hours a day: it was wonderful to feel the deep fatigue.

You've run for eight hours straight?
What is your best marathon time, if you don't mind me asking?

Well, I ran for 20 hours straight one time (80 miles).
My best marathon time (in more than 35 years of running) was last week: 3:51.

Does this mean I have to start doing 8 hour LSD runs to increase my speed ?

Re: So I googled running daily and I found this
I ran my first marathon at age 19. I got to 20 miles in 3 hours and crashed (back then they didn't have gels, or even more than one or two water stations). But, the best I could have done was a 3:48.
My outstanding times now come mainly from endurance. I don't do "speed" work. My theory is that if I can run 23 or more miles in training at near goal pace, then I should be able to do it on race day too. but my pace is 8.8 min/mile which I don't consider to be very fast.

For speed you don't necessarily have to do HIIT in the most laborious sense. If your base pace is 8.8 mins/mile, then perhaps you could change it so you go 8 mins / mile for one minute and walk/jog for another 1,2 or 3 then repeat.
