I am speechless.

The title of your post does not reflect the sadness that you must feel.

My very sincerest condolences.

This is the worst news ever. Enormous hugs for you and your family. Lean on whomever you need to and, please, take it easy on yourself for as long as you need to.

Deanna and Ian and all those who loved your dear son, Porter: to echo everyone else, your loss is beyond words and beyond our comprehension. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and think of you all during my runs. I am so sorry and may God bless you and all those whom Porter touched in his short life.
We train more joyfully and productively when we focus on the now, rather than on our future race day performance. It's a long road from here to there with many miles to go. We need to run each one. Accept where you are today and simply be thankful for the work you've accomplished. KA

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I am trying hard to be grateful for the nearly 8 years I had with Porter, but it is difficult. Ian has been running each day as a way of trying to deal with this. I guess that's a better coping mechanisms than many others.

Thank you again.
