TGIF - Last Friday of March 2011

Postby HCcD » Fri Mar 25, 2011 6:44 am

Got in my 30 minutes in the chair this morning ... Planned 6-8K paced run later this afternoon, as my final shake-out run before Sunday's ATB 30K in Hamilton, on the schedule ...

Other than that, I got nuttin' ...

Have a great and chilly day, everyone ... :P

Got some pyramid intervals to do today....maybe pool, maybe spin bike...I really should be doing them in the pool, as my toes are still feeling bashed up from my badly fitting bike shoes (that I'm returning today)....but it's so cold, I hate going to the pool when it's so cold out. (Before I get any wisecracks, yes the pool is inside but I'm always damp coming out - brrrrrrr.)

And, really annoyingly out-of-the-way sports doc appt this afternoon to get my 'official' results from my bone scan, even though I already know what it is. Ugh, what a pain.

So, so tired again this morning. No run for me. Brought my gear to head to the gym after work today. Plan is to do 5-6K on the TM with 3-4K at 1/2M race pace.

I'm on my own for a few days while the family is away visitting grandparents, so I'm moving my early morning runs to the evening for a change. Got 19K with 11@LT on the schedule for this evening- I'll sleep well tonight!
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

I ended up taking yesterday as a rest day, we had a retirement luncheon for a co-worker so that meant no swim.

Rather than doing my bike workout yesterday (it was supposed to be a double day), I did the bike this morning (up at 0515hrs, ugh) and will swim at lunch today.

I feel 100% better for taking the rest day - I was pretty tired yesterday (long training week).

Yippee, it's Friday!

I think the weather gods might be smiling down on me for next week and I might be able to get some bike commuting in. It's still too cold (for me) to do any lengthy cycling, but my commute is only 15 minutes, so I think I can handle the cold for that long.

Did a total of about 6km yesterday, first half with the clinic, and then a partial run home (which was halted due to difficulties!).

Today's looking like a rest day, as I don't feel like gathering up stuff to bring to work, and I've plans after work.

I run because it's my passion, and not just a sport. Every time I walk out the door, I know why I'm going where I'm going and I'm already focused on that special place where I find my peace and solitude. Running, to me, is more than just a physical exercise...it's a consistent reward for victory!

Seems like a million years since I have done this, but here goes!

Today was yoga, P90X style, whilst the shortest person watched Go Diego Go in the other room.

Four workouts this week. I'm going to consider this week a success.

Happy Friday!
I used to run. All the time.
Now? Notsomuch.
I'm still a runner, though.
Life is fluid and ever changing. I am too.
