Registration opens "early" tomorrow morning.

Just a heads up in case anyone is planning to run it! :)

The website couldn't handle the volume and kept crashing. A lot of people couldn't register, after trying for several hours. Then they reopened registration on the following Sunday.

If I recall correctly, last year they DID announce an actual time that the registration would start, which is what bogged down the site. So now they are just saying "early" in the morning like they used to do.

Thanks for the reminder. I really enjoyed this race last year. I hope I'm not stuck in a meeting when they open the registration. :)

I am assuming registration will open before you go to work.

they had hosting problems last year... the host claimed to have tested for the large loads that they expected, but hadn't adequately tested and therefore couldn't handle the loads. I forget all the details but it was the sort of thing that should not have happened and I am guessing that the organizers will do what they can to ensure that it doesn't happen again.

But it was partly because it was the first year they actually gave a start time for registration. They hadn't done that before (used the same Karelo registration system). They know better now. :)

p.s. I was trying to search for last year's thread, but my search query returns the message that "half-marathon" is not found in any posts. :?

Right, but the reason they changed it and gave a start time is because the host promised that the server could handle it. ;)

I guess they didn't make the same promise this year.

Before 6am? I hope so but I'm not counting on it.

They definitely used to start registration well before 6:00 am.

Some have suggested to make it quicker tomorrow, have your Karelo.com profile set up in advance. Mine was set up from last year, but I had to send for my password.

Registration is open now! Just did it and it was smooth.

Here is the direct link to the karelo registration page: https://www.karelo.com/enter_res.php?&BID=123#Ev11239

for some reason I can't find a link to the registration form on the actual race website.

I just figured out that the link Holly posted doesn't take you directly to the registration page, but this link does:

Yes, on the link I posted above, it says it's sold out. Not sure when- I checked at about 10 and it was still open.
