I've discovered some new trails in the Gat's. You guys should check em out!

I often park at P7 - Kingsmere (which is open in the winter) and get onto the trails from there. I think P10 - Fortune stays open too and is good for heading towards Meech along #36, or doing #32 around Lac Fortune and then joining a big chunk of the network from there...

fyi ... from today's TriRudy newsletter ....

CAR BREAK-INS IN GATINEAU PARK

More car break-in attempts again Sunday at Gatineau Park P11 - several cars had damage done to their locking mechanisms. Mine was similarly damaged 2 weeks ago at P5. I now leave a sign sitting on my drivers seat: "I leave NOTHING of value in this car" Guess it should be bilingual?! I reported the incident to both the NCC and to the (Wakefield) police dept. We need to publicize this - maybe if word gets out & the Park gets a bad rep, they might do something other than sympathize & hand out the police phone #.

I only have a 75min run planned for Saturday so would prefer to stay local. I'll likely hit the NCC trails. We could meet up at P10, just off Moodie

I can't make it BUT...

I was in there this morning, parked at P10 (fortune) and took #36 to Meech Lake and then continued on to the abandoned mill (Carbide Willson). It was amazing in there after last nights snow fall. I took a load of pictures and will post them to my blog when I get the chance. Obviously it was a bit wet in there but the trails were awesome!

I'm thinking of going up to P10 tomorrow with the trail runners and skis!!

This is what it looked like 3 days ago so hopefully with some snow overnight, it will be somewhat decent. I can't wait any longer!!
