Maniac Chat Sunday

Postby ceileigh » Sun Dec 18, 2011 8:02 am

Dogs got me up with a thump, tail wag, chin lick shortly after 6AM. Gave Caleb his SAMe and posted on Facebook. Really chilly out there this morning (-17C) and before I could even think of whether or not to head out the phone rings ... before 6:30AM. Heart stops ... look at caller ID ... Oh I know that person, it's RM Jojo! :D She saw my post on Facebook. So I started the day with a maniac chat instead of a run! So instead of a chilly morning run I had a warm fuzzy morning chat!

Hope everyone has a great day and time to chat with friend!

Nice way to start my day...a Maniac Chat.
Off to Runner's Choice for Santa Run...but in my case it will be a walk. My PF seems to be 99.9% better...so will be back to running again very soon...and hopefully a slow ramp up will not get me sidelined.

Great news Jojo!!

I caught a cold, barely slept all night coughing, now that I'm not in bed. I seem much better but not sure if I should run or not. We'll see.

Have a good day everyone!

Yay, Sunday! Best day of the week. I will do some Christmas baking, then go for a run and then go see Tintin at the movie theatre. A great day ahead of me. :-)

I've forgotten what cold winter running feels like! My poor little legs were bright red when I got back from my 6k this morning - at least I remembered the neck warmer today, so my upper half was warm enough. Nice and sunny!

I haven't run for a few days... my old shoes are hurting my feet too much so I might wait (or keep the runs really short) until my new shoes come in from holabird.

In the meantime, snowshoes do the trick! Went yesterday with M, and am going again today with a group. The weather is cooperating nicely, so far. :) Fortunately, a large group means a slower trek. Yesterday we were racing the clock and my legs are feeling it! :)

It's been a while since I've posted, but with Purdy's help, I've been stretching and strengthening my way back into running, and now I'm running 3x per week without pain. Hooray!

Yesterday, 8.6km. Today, 13km will get me up to my goal of 30kms per week in my gradual ramp-up. Then out for a kayak ride in my drysuit!

Planning for 2012: I've registered for the Chilly Half on March 4th, and the Portland OR Half Marathon in October. I'll likely do the NCM Half, and I'm planning a solo "out there" personal challenge for July: kayaking from Niagara-on-the-Lake to Toronto.

I Was running-partnerless this morning .. :( so just ended up going to the Club for a progressive 20.5K / 1:55:xx long run ... time to start race preparation, with Goofy Challenge less than 3 weeks away now ... so, will start focusing most of my training us in a steady, race pace and/or tempo efforts now ....

Oh mother that was a chilly start to the day! Gorgeous bright sun helped. Run buddy and I did 18K before various parts started complaining.

I ran 7km today at a more normal pace (just under 35:00), or at least I just ran without thinking about slowing down the way I have been the last few days. It felt pretty good, though at the end I had a bit of a post race nausea thing for about 3 minutes... haha... guess I've lost a bit of fitness... but I'm feeling like I'm getting back to normal. I'll be finishing up a bit of Christmas stuff this afternoon, marking and I have a band rehearsal. Yay! Well other than the marking bit. ;)

Easy 6K this morning, as I start my veeeerrrrrrry gradual, veeeeerrrry gentle 24-week training plan for the TO Women's Half next May. It's not super-cold here yet, but chilly enough to make me start thinking about some things I'll want/need when the real winter arrives. (I know, I know, some would claim that Toronto doesn't know what 'real winter' is...)
PR's so far: 5K 27:15, 10K 55:25, 21.1K 2:10:53, 42.2K 5:21:27
Upcoming: Toronto Women's 5k in May, STWM Half in October

Weights planned for later.
