Got in a half hour strength workout just now at the gym. Going to work out in the off hours for a bit while the resolutioners are settling into their routines.

Not back to work for this gal.

Spent the day walking in Parc du Bic up here near Rimouski. It was gorgeous but very cold!! Thanks to hot pad for mittens and boots I was ok but they need to invent some for the buttocks...

We did 5.5 miles in the snowshoeeing trails but there wasn't enough snow to use them so we just walked. It took us 2h40! That is some slow pace but it was fun :D

I am still debating whether I run home tonight or I just take a rest day. It is still -28 out with the windchill.

Frigid back-to-work Tuesday

Postby Jwolf » Tue Jan 03, 2012 5:49 pm

No TTSG for me, but I did do a 30 min easy run and a mini-strength workout. Then I bought some shoes and some KT tape. :) Trying out a new taping technique.

Brrrrrrr.....the windchill is -30 here today so it was 8k on the TM at the gym before weights this morning.

One of the guys I run with at lunch was on the fence about going for a run, and I felt bad about not running outside this morning, so I went for a quick 4.5k with him. Freezing heading into the wind but not bad at all otherwise.

Wow congratuations on braving the cold!

I'm sooooo warm and toasty!! :D I just did a nice 8K on the tm (started out easy, went a teeny bit faster towards the end for 42:10), had a hot shower, and had some delicious hot beef stew. See, these cold days aren't so bad... indoors!

Done! :) Spin class was packed full. Glad I got there early to get a good bike. Ran into RayMan who was on the bike next to me.

10km tonight. Very nice outside, only -18C. Great night to run. I was particularly happy to have that nice northerly breeze which help me avoid getting overheated. The last thing you want is a case of hyponatremia from sweating too much.

An extremely soggy 11k done along the Bay in pouring rain. Heading back into the wind was a bit rough but it was a mild day so not bad overall. Just let the legs go as they felt so no tempo today.

A much shorter run for me, here! 3.4k in 27m08s. Outside, about +5... perfect running weather, except for the fact that any direction I faced I was still running into the wind. How is that even possible? Good for getting back into it, will try to repeat on Thursday.
