Postby Marg » Tue Jan 31, 2012 6:28 am

Going to force myself to squeak out a few km, but I got to bed way late last night and am paying for it right now. All the wine didn't help either. :wall:

Tired Tuesday is a good way to describe today *yawn*. After running 10K on Sunday and another 5 yesterday, in slushy, snowy, slow-you down majorly sidewalk conditions, I am absolutely beat today. Rest day for me chilling with my 5 year old.

Nice run this morning- 12km with about 5cm of fresh snow on the roads, and quite mild- only about -1° I think. Physio appt tonight to put get the final kinks in my hips finished off.
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

Today is the start of my training plan. 4k run sometime today. It was too icy for my liking this morning, so I'll either run on the TM at lunch, or with a group of the girls tonight.

Long run planned today; it will have to be on the TM as I didn't bring any outdoor running clothes to Sudbury with me. It's going to be a tough one as the hotel fitness room is right next to the pool and hot-tub, it's like a sauna in there!

Treadmill Tuesday for me. The snow all got shovelled last night (thanks again, Ed, love you), but between my morning running buddy being out of the town and the sidewalks being kind of messy, I used today for a progression run on the TM. Total distance was just over 8 miles, maximum speed was two minutes at 9.0 mph, so definitely a very good workout. Hoping to get to Runpub tomorrow night, but with work being so unpredictable, I will probably run tomorrow morning "just in case" and then maybe get a double if I can get out of the office on time.

Have a great (warm!) day, everyone :) And Happy Birthday Mrs. Strider!

Going to be out running at noon today--before the next load of snow/rain/freezing rain/slushy/ankle-twisting icey cr@p that we've been getting all winter starts falling (again! ). Probably 7k or so--we'll see how it goes.

Tired Tuesday indeed. I got about 4 hours of sleep in total last night, between 2 kids just getting over being sick and my DH just starting to come down with the same bug. The kids kept waking up with sore tummies, DH kept waking up to throw up, and in between cuddles and clean up, there was NO WAY I was getting up to run this morning. I actually got up at 4:45 when my alarm went off, but realized in about 3 seconds I needed to go back to bed. I'll be too busy to run tonight, so I'll take this as my rest day and wait and see what tonight brings.

Got 10kms in on snowy roads and sidewalks. For what it's worth, I averaged 6:16/km but it was more a question of keeping up a steady effort than anything else. I have another 6kms this evening - the first time I have ever doubled.

Happy birthday Mrs Strider!! :D

Was really tempted to not run last night as I didn't get away from work until close to 7pm, but I wasn't ravenous, so I hit the TM and clocked out a solid interval run - ended up with 7.5k in 45min doing my hard sets at 5:24min/km! that's fast for me! wuwhoo!

Swim squad this morning - and besides some core on tap for tonight, I'm on a bit of a rest until my next workout which isn't until tomorrow evening. You know you're ironman training when you're excited about a 36hr break from a scheduled workout.

Happy Birthday Kim!

And Happy Last Day of January to everyone. I can't believe one month of 2012 is already done-- I must be getting old.

Will do a progression tempo run either indoors or out later-- haven't decided.
