Last Kona Monday (until our next trip)

Postby CinC » Mon Apr 02, 2012 1:26 am

it's not officially Monday here yet, but it's Monday in Alberta, so I'm starting the daily thread!

Our last day in Kona - plan is to do a 90min ride in the morning and then pack up - will break down my bike while Dave gets a run in the afternoon - fly out in the evening.

We had a solid Sunday - raced the Lavaman oly tri - great event - will write a report when home, but I was very happy with how my race went, esp on tired legs from a close to 19hr training week! We did an additional 25k ride post race to flush out the legs too - will miss the ocean sounds, lava rock and hawaiian life...it's been a very good trip!

Mahalo! Have a super Monday!

Glad you've had a great trip!

Likely a rest day for me - possibly a run tonight.

Have a great day everyone!

Rest day on the schedule for me ... The Client Service Rep at the Club did not show up this morning to open the doors, as I walked by and miss morning chair therapy workout :( and, leaving a number of people waiting and shivering outside, for at least 30-60 minutes, as the Club is usually opened at 5:30am in the morning ... :?

Dental appointment later this afternoon, and start my new p-t job @Euro-sports this evening ... likely, just working Friday and Monday evenings from now, until the end of my Spring race season, before adding Saturday afternoon to the mix in June, possibly ... 8)

Kona sounds so amazing. Ah, crashing ocean waves.

A rest day for me with some easy yin yoga.

7.5k this morning, pain free.

If this week continues to be pain free, I'll start to build up mileage slowly and get back track for race training, and hopefully be fit enough to have a good 1/2 in Lake Placid in June.
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

Easy 7.3K this morning. Sticking to the plan to run with the HR monitor and stay below max hr while running so as to not stress by body for 2 weeks. Homeopath suggested this to let my body rest and recover from the flu thing I had. I rarely get sick and having fought a flu 3 times (once per month J/F/M) something is off. The plan is to get back into running post the flu, re build my base, and at the same time not stress the body by pushing it. Only complaint I have is it is hard to go that SLOW!  I was a bit faster in speed today though and my avg hr was a bit slower and that is what I want so healing appears to be happening!

Kona is our next vacation ! :D

6K recovery run - not sure recovering from what, but whatever - very slow. Lots of stretching and some core work as well.

I wish I was going to Hawaii! Unfortunately a run in Montreal this afternoon, probably just an easy 30 mins.

Safe travels to C&DinC.
Best of luck today, Smiles!

I'm still sick, so rest day (and day off work) for me. But I still had to get up early since I had a chiro appointment at 7:20AM. My calf feels like I've been hot with a 90mph slapshot! Owie.

easy 8K this morning. Day after the run run is always hard. Working 2 - 8 today and that's about it. Nothing special planned.

Today's run, of whatever distance, will have me virtually arriving in virtual Ottawa! Stop by the M&G thread to meet me virtually and say howdy. We can all decide where we should virtually eat tonight, too!

Safe travels (real and virtual!)!

Today was a good run - despite a lousy and fragmented night's sleep and the overwhelming urge to stay in bed when the alarm went off, I hauled myself out of bed and did my 14k on the TM. I was still on call until 0800, so I had to do it with the pager and phone rattling on the TM, but it got done. And I feel so much better for having done it!

Despite being in Calgary, I'll be dropping by the virtual M&G later! Congrats, Avis!

Going for a short run when I get back to Medicine Hat. I am going to workout at the Shawnessy YMCA in a few minutes. We do have a crappy YMCA in Medicine Hat.

I was going to run this morning but then got caught up on the phone.  Heading out shortly to give blood, so no run after that. It's my 32nd donation! :)

Nice!

It's been forever since I posted in the daily thread, thought maybe if I post here I'll be more apt to stick to my workouts. I am going to do a short easy "recovery" run later and a strength workout.

Just over 10km this afternoon, with the last 2km in 8 minutes. Felt like I was going to expire right then and there, but also felt good to really push hard again. Then thoroughly negated the workout with pub food and birthday drinks.
