I couldn't find a daily thread...am I really starting my very first "Daily Thread"..???

Four years ago today I ran Boston...Wonderful memories of a tough race. I'm heading out for a "short" run...to reminisce and wonder if I'll ever run a marathon again...(Uh..I know I probably will..)

Thinking of the great maniacs I met that year...and those I have yet to meet. Have a wonderful day all...
22 halfs (PR 1:42:02) :)
5 full (PR 3:48:21)
...and a smattering of adventure and trail races thrown in for good measure!
--------------------------
All running is on hold until further notice .... :0(

Planned a nice LSR but I truly hate running on chilly rainy days. Also do NOT want to give my cold a chance to come back. So I am going to take an unscheduled day off and run tomorrow when (fingers crossed) it is not suppose to rain. Today I am going to do some reading and relaxing and not much of anything else! :D

6.5k in the rain this morning here in Ottawa. Didn't see a single other runner! Made myself do some extra hills this morning since I was lazy all week.

20k or so planned, we might have a new runner joining us for half marathon training (for 11 - 12k planned with the group). If so, it would be a good plan for me to run with her as my hamstring is still nagging me.

After 4 days off due to a cold, decided that I needed to get out and ran some trails. Eventhough it was a tough run, it felt really good to get out on the trails and sweat out some "cold". Now I am ready for a nap.

Four years ago yesterday we had a spring snowstorm come through Alberta on the day that my friend and I had planned a 42K training run for solidarity with other friends that were running Boston. It took all morning, but it got done.

This morning, a gentle 10K with the running club.

63k bike ride today. Sure is a lot more hills around here than in Niagara! Lots of great roads to explore in Finland, though there doesn't seem to be any flat ones, lol. All excellent training for the UK70.3 of course, but I could have done with it being about 20C warmer for this one as it was about 6C and breezy for the ride today.

I had to look in my running journal, but 4 years ago today I went for a 5k walk (why a walk, I have no idea) . Nothing exciting like the rest of you.

Today, much more fun. 5x 1k intervals. Total run 13.2k

4 years ago today was 2.5 weeks before I started running. I was likely lounging on the couch being lazy and eating bonbons. Today, I did my last long training run for Vancouver and ran 21.57km in 2:20:45, which was 3 seconds slower than my first half marathon in October 2009. :D Let the taper begin!!!

I spent all of April of 08 having surgeries for a broken arm. It wasn't until May 10 that I could jog at all.

Four years ago today I was in Boston, although not on site to watch the marathon on marathon day. I was in the city the day before to watch the women's olympic trial race, though. On marathon day I was nervously waiting for the results of several friends, and found out later that one good friend had to drop out. A heartbreaking day, and he never made it to Heartbreak Hill. But many others had a great day. :) And my friend lived to tell the tale.

For me today-- just a short 3K run to meet a friend for coffee. Contemplating my plan for tomorrow-- about 20-ish but not sure where.
