5 hill repeats will be done tonight at the clinic. Yay. Then I may or may not tackle the monster hill on my own after.

13K done this morning on my hilly route. Pretty nice morning out there!
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.
Re: Thursday, Already ???
Yesterday I picked up a pair of Kinavara's with the theory being a bit more padding under my foot may not be a bad idea while it heals but the shoe is still pretty flat. Walked in them last night with a bit of running. Foot hurt some. Tried them this morning and ran around the house a bit. Foot hurt just a bit. Put on bikila's. Instant end of foot pain. Strange but true. So I did a morning run in bikila's (which have a few more mm underfoot then my seeya's)
Result was just under 5K in 32 minutes. Not bad given I have not done a real run since April. No foot pain. Only issue was my legs were starting to feel heavy by the end but given no real running in 10 days that is understandable. So ORW half may actually be doable with a slower pace and shorter walk:run intervals. Will see how my foot holds up today and hopefully try for a longish run this weekend and see how it goes!

An awesome button pushing workout on the TM this morning!
10K in 58 minutes
First 5K were warm up @ 6.2, 7X 2 minute hills, 2 minutes flat,
Last 5K were 6.6 mph - felt really easy!
Followed by some stretching/core/upper body!

My legs still a little sore, but may try 3-5K recovery run on treadmill tonight!
Re: Thursday, Already ???
Last night was 10k with the lady I train/guide. For those in Ottawa, we got caught in the rain storm. Somehow it was my best and worst run in awhile. At some points it was raining so hard I couldn't see 2 feet in front of me, but I feel elated to have kept going when we easily could've just ran home.

I can't predict the weather here from day to day! Yesterday I was overheating in long sleeves so I set out long and short for this morning. Today I could have used a jacket!
8.1 km with 6 km at tempo. The .1 was my cool-down....ran out of time!

Leg/Hill work tonight. I will set the TM at 10% incline and see how long before my legs give out. I am noticing that the hill workouts are doing wonders for my overall running and almost feel like they accelerate my improvement a lot. I can do without the nausea though.

Happy Anniversary, Mr. and Mrs. Strider!
Made it to Runpub last night and had a really nice 10 km run. Unlike Ottawa, we had only a brief shower or two, nothing to worry about. This morning was 20 minutes on the elliptical followed by upper body weights, then the usual strength/stretching stuff.
Have a great day, everyone - almost to the weekend!

Went laser tagging last night, and ended up sleeping in this morning... rest day for me (first one this week!), but hoping to get in some laps and hot tubbing at the pool tonight. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Happy Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Strider!
I had a solid run home after work last night - schedule called for 8k with km repeats - I changed things up and did 8.5k and kept it at tempo, pushing hard for the first 5k. Got it done in 51min to make it an even avg pace of 6min/km.
Last 6am swim squad this morning with my coach prior to my race - fun workout - not high volume, but she got us playing fox and hound for the last 200m - was super fun. I got my new racing tri top from her - can't wait to wear it! 90min ride on schedule for tonight - it's chilly out right now and the weather is supposed to get crappy by the end of the day - but if it's decent enough, i'll head outside, otherwise, will hit the computrainer. 9 sleeps until race day! eeep!

No more icecream and cookies for me. Celebration binge is over. Time to get back at it. Today was the first day of putting shoes on after Sundays run. I hate wearing flip flops but it's a matter of necessity these past few days. Huge blisters under both big toe toenails. I'm popping them today!!
Managed an hour of somewhat modified boot camp. Golf with my ladies league tonight.

Re: Thursday, Already ???
Tonight is the first night of First Steps (beginner clinic), Next Steps (run 1 hour continuously) and Stronger Steps (new this term - for those who want something different, but who aren't ready to tackle the half-marathon distance. Will include hills or speedwork). I'm not sure which group I'll be helping out with, so my run could be 30 second intervals of running (x10), or 30 minutes solid. The legs are still not 100% after Sunday, and I'm supposed to be tapering again anyway, so an easy run is fine with me.
Re: Thursday, Already ???
10km tonight. Cool but nice in Ottawa.
