Bye Bye June (Saturday)

Postby ceileigh » Sat Jun 30, 2012 7:08 am

Ending June on a hot note! Weatherman says it is 20C with 68% humidity, winds at 15 .I think he lies! Felt a lot hotter and humider and the winds a lot stronger but I loved that wind today! Easy 12K LSR done early this morning to avoid the heat of the day. First longish run in the Vivobarefoot. I like the shoe and maintain a good midfoot land in it but when I got home both feet had a line as if a seam was pressing on the top of the foot. I'll have to watch that. Could be a problem :(

Now to get cleaned up and clean up the house. Invited my mom and aunt over for a BBQ tonight along with a friend. Canada Day weekend and all ... got to celebrate!

Happy Long weekend everyone and enjoy the last day of June!

Long run moved from Sunday to today and it's done. 8 miles. Mini-T is here and we will be leaving soon for the neighbourhood coffee joint and stroll of the hood.

Planning on 18km in the rain :( , it doesn't look like we're going to get summer in Vancouver so I'm going to Winnipeg next week to hunt it down.

17.90k early AM after 7 days of no running. Happy long Canada weekend, everyone!
During any successful session, one might and should have a moment of truth, "should I continue or just walk home?". If you don't break down, the same thing might happen a few hundred steps later, but you already dealt with that issue. This usually happens in the second half, anyways. The satisfaction one derives later, when at home, is extremely gratifying, and is a build up like no other to further efforts.

Success at the track last night. Got up a little late this morning so I think I'll skip a run for today and lounge around the pool. If it cools off a bit later, I may do an easy run (if I don't get into the wine first :shifty: )

Have a great long everyone!

18K this morning in Presquile Park. Had a woman on a tri bike yell at me "you look good!" as she rode past. She probably meant it as general encouragement, but I like to think she meant my ass.
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

Feeling good enough for a long run! A lot cooler here at the cottage than in the city, so the heat didn't really bother me at all!

Wow that run sucked!! 65 mins for 5.2 miles, lots of walk breaks. I think the hills in the heat last night weren't the best idea. Long run will have to wait until tomorrow or Monday.... sigh

16.25K in the books with MArymac this morning in just shy of 1:45:xx or so. 9.8 was done with marymac and the remaining with the Bonsor gals, except I quit at Commercial Dr While the ladies continue to Science World, where I met back up with them for a coffee.

10.1K done this morning...not a great second 5K at all. We won our game 2-0 last night but I re-injured the ball of my right foot. The fields are like cement right now and cleats have zero cushioning. I couldn't even walk on it when I woke up. An ice pack and cushioned running shoes got me through the run but it's still sore.....
