Heading out for 22k. Having a hard time deciding what to wear. Long sleeves? Short sleeves? Long sleeves now, short sleeves halfway through the run. Maybe I should carry a suitcase with me and change my attire as needed

Have a great day everyone!

24K Fast finish run this morning. 14K LSR pace, 10K race pace

I have never done a fast finish long run and my last few long runs have been brutal. I have been way slow and my hip has been sore and ... well just yuk! I was not looking forward to this. Planned to do it yesterday but breakfast did not agree with me so put it off today but I knew I HAD to do it so ... I decided to just try it and give it my best shot.

Breakfast was homemade lara bar. I am back running in VFF's as every unitoe I wear has caused issues. Been running in VFF's only again for 2 weeks now (though I have worn minimal shoes all summer so this is not a transition thing just the toes :D ) First 14K were great - no hip issues and back on my usual LSR pace (i have been a full minute slower the past few runs). Then I 'tried' the fast pace figuring even if I did 4 or 5K it was good. In the end I did all 10K at 1/2 marathon pace or FASTER  I just had a great run! The last KM my legs were starting to feel tired otherwise it was the best long run I have had since I don't know when. Maybe all the work of the summer is finally paying off! Maybe I really can do this marathon thing. I have truly been wondering but I actually felt strong out there today! :D :D

PS to put it into perspective ... my last 24K was 3 hours and 25 minutes long of depressing hard running, today was 2:54 of thinking 'holy cattlefish I still feel good!!!!" ... that is a huge change! :!:

Longest training run of the cycle in the books: rolling 37K in 2:52, no water, no bonk.

Morning!

Back down a bit to 26K this week for the long run this week.

The conditions were absolutely FABULOUS, so I guess that contributed to the peppier pace.

26K @ 6:02 pace

Could definitely feel the legs from yesterday, so it was good to hit that pace on tired legs.

Ready to do the Terry Fox Run in Stanley Park, which will be a run/walk for me.

I miss coming down here to run. I should come more often now before the weather changes, now that I can run a bit longer.Image

I had a good run this morning with JoggerBarbie- almost 20K in 1:47. Oddly, last week I was faster (and it felt really easy), and I wasn't too far off my normal long run pace this morning (we had an average of 5:25 and usually I'm about 5:30ish) but today's run felt SO hard! The whole time, too. Oh well, I got it done and didn't stop! She ran 11K before I joined her, so I feel sort of silly talking about how hard it was... I'm so glad I'm not marathon training, that's all I'll say! 20K is as far as I want to be going these days. ANYWAY... it's such a beautiful day. Hopefully I can get out on my bike or something this afternoon and enjoy it. 8)

Early run for me- was out before the sun came up, and got in 23K this morning.
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

Got out on the trails on my mtb this afternoon for just over an hour. It was great to be able to ride today in such great weather.

Finished off another big week with a nice 32k run. This was my last 30+ k run for this training cycle and my 7th one in the past 8 weeks. The other week was a "B" half. It felt good today.

After feeling like death for the past 3 days, I am finally much better. This cold was nasty. Back on track tomorrow. Very jealous of all these long runs. I wish I was running that long too.

Drove to Edmonton this morning. I ran 9km in the river valley. My daughter did 18km. Beautiful trail and the autumn leaves are gorgeous. My knee is still a bit bad, but no MRI till December. At least I have worked up to 5 and 1's.
