I can't make it while you are there unfortunately.
Not sure when I will be going, but hopefully Saturday morning!

If I don't make it on Friday, I'll probably bring the kids Saturday morning - IB has a 10km run planned - he could do it on the canal while we take in the expo...... (gah, kids at the expo - always fun.....)
i run for me.

If someone goes early today, could they post here or text me (pm me and I'll send you my #) to let me know how the lines are? I'd like to go, but don't want to wait forever. Maybe the rain will keep people away?

Lineups on Friday at opening are always long. Need to relocate the tent off the skating pad may complicate things. No crowds early Saturday morning at time of Friendship Run.
The longest journey begins with a single step.

What time were you planning to heading down?

Sure can .. will pm you my BB ... just don't do what I usually do and go there for 1pm start time, as the line-up starts around 12:30pm ... in particularly, when they have the Red March ceremony around noon or so, then they all head to the race kit pickup ... If memory serves me, the crowd thins out after the first 30-60 minutes, around 2pm, before the rush hour crowd begins just past 3pm or so .... :shifty:

Got there at 12:45pm after b-day lunch ... by 1:0pm when race kit pickup opened ... holy c@rp ... the line-up was way back there ... there was a 5K line and Half Marathon line to enter the tent ... but, once entering the tent, it was total mayhem ... half goes right and 5K goes left ... there were only 3 booths, each staffed by two volunteers, in increments of 3,000  ... after picking up the race bit/chip, it was quick to grab the race shirt, then you had to walk to the Drill Hall and through the mini-Expo to validate your chip, upon exiting ... pretty small Expo, a few vendors, your typical one's with RR and New Balance as the biggies, as well as a number of information booths ...

Must have been a record for me to going through a race expo and not spending a $$$ penny $$$ then again, I will be back tomorrow morning for the Friendship Run, so who knows what may be sought after then ... :shifty:

I hit the race kit pick up Friday evening around 6:45pm. Pretty much walk in/ walk out by that time....very small expo and was pleasantly surprised to find my wife's aunt working the booth (table) on behalf of Legion magazine inside the drill hall. Why was the chip verification moved away from the kit pickup? Did they want it out of the mud?
Love this event....can't wait to fire it up tomorrow!

I thought they always did chip pick up in the mess hall? I disliked where it was located. Major traffic jam as people were lined up to get their chips verified and fighting with the expo crowds at the same time.
