This is probably a mistake, but...
I signed up for ATB. Ack!
My SIL wanted me to do her training runs with her because she knew she wouldn't get out the door without someone else there. So I adapted a very long - 25-week - marathon training plan. She can only afford 3 days a week, so we're getting out there at around 5:00 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays and doing the long runs on either Saturday or Sunday. I'm getting some other runs in with friends. All of our runs are based on time, not distance. No speed work, but there will be lots of hills.
I kept telling her I don't do races and had no intention of running it with her. Then I figured, I'm going to be running that long anyway, may as well do it. It won't be a race for me: I'll be sticking with her and we'll lend each other moral support. We're both in the 'just finish' camp. While I've run that far before, it was several years ago and only while running with friends who were training for marathons.
Maybe I'll actually lose this tire around my waist.
Yesterday's run was interesting. I've tried to work at least one hill into every run. Yesterday we did 3 and my running partner referred to me as 'a f*@#ing sadist'. Nice, really nice.

Let me know about the long runs, maybe we can work off the 'spare tires' together ?

Way to go Jim !!! Hmmm, maybe I should sign up for it again too, I got injured just before the race last year. We could have a celebratory butter tart

next up:
This broken wing will fly again
One fine day
This blackbird's mute gonna sing again
One fine day
So all you sinners come out
And all you drunkards crawl out
Come into the light of one fine day
This broken wing will fly again
One fine day
This blackbird's mute gonna sing again
One fine day
So all you sinners come out
And all you drunkards crawl out
Come into the light of one fine day

Start growing out your hair and bust out the crimping iron.

A crimping iron was something I would never have needed. What you see in the picture is as long as it would ever get. However, it would then increase in volume/frizz. There are times when I looked like a stick with an Afro.

Well, you're still hangin' in there, so I'm not worried. Good luck with your BQ ... though you're not setting any goals.
